How do you prune a houseplant(tropical foliage)?

I purchased a houseplant quite a few months ago, and it got too big for the pot it was in. My husband replanted it, and now it's drooping and the leaves are turning brown and falling off.

pinch a few leaves put them in water & let them get roots on them & replant them.Good Luck
