Women's Health - May 2007

I started having irregular periods in August 2006, progressively getting worse, after 8 years of on-the-dot 28 day cycles. By February, they were 7-10 days long, 2 weeks apart. My doctor ran bloodtests and put me on Yaz to help regulate me. I have irregular FSH/LH and prolactin levels. He says I do not ovulate regularly, if at all, and prolactin just a little bit higher than normal. (FSH-21.6, LH-73.1, Prolactin 26.6) Is birth control the ONLY way to stop my periods from coming so often? He did a laparoscopy to look for endo, found nothing. A D&C to clean me out, I bled red blood one and a half days after those procedures and have had a stready flow of brown since (3 weeks ago). I hate being on birth control because it makes me very moody and depressed, even very lose dose pills, and if I take just one pill a few hours late it can trigger my period to come within hours. I went to a party on Saturday with my boyfriend... We're both 17 and we've been dating for a month... At the party he was drinking, but I was driving so I didn't drink much...

After he'd had a few beers, he started trying to feel me up in front of everyone at the party, I wasnt comfortable with it so I tried to stop him... Over the course of the night I told him to stop at least 10 times, and I physically pushed him away from me at least 10 times... At one point I tried to just walk away from him and he grabbed me and pulled me back so I couldnt leave...

This isnt the first time he's been a bit forceful but it's by far the worst... He's also more forceful and aggressive when he's drunk...

He appologized on Sunday when I was really mad at him...

Should I be worried this is going to lead to abuse or violence?

Is there something else I can do to stop him?

Is it a bad sign that he's more forceful and agressive when he's been drinking?

two questions:
1) do i have to take it at the same time everday or approximate? like i take it before i go to bed but not at a fixed hour. so i'll take it from like 10 pm- 12 am ish. is that ok?
2) if i started by first pack on a tuesday, do i start my next on tuesday too or a diff day??

by accident i took my pill on the week i was suppose 2 get my period (resting week of pill) and i started to bleed for a little over a week and now, i was suppose 2 get my period the 2nd n havent got it. n now i dont know when i should start my pill again. i know im not pregnant, but confused when to start the pill again. should i take it?

I have had the iud since 9/2003 I lost my period shortly after i got it. I had some sparadic periods maybe 2 or 3 times a year but thats all now I have had my period steady for the last 3 months as it was before i had my iud put in. Is it possible that with 1 yr left on my iu the hormones have worn off. I dont want to get pregnant please give me some advice do i need to replace it or am I good till the end of the ;ast year

my husband and i had sex last night and had to stop because i started having really bad pelvic pain. like cramps only worse. i have not had this problem with him before. i have been having light cramps almost every day for a few months, but have attributed it to my body just getting back to normal after giving birth. my daughter is 5 months old now. does this sound like a bad problem or just something not to worry about?

I called and they told me my doctor had to call and verify that I meet certain criteria. Doesn't loosing 100lbs+ qualify me? I am only concerned with the hanging abdominal skin that weighs about 15-25 lbs, and I want it removed! The whole purpose of my surgery was to get healthy, not carry to around a massive amount of redundant skin!

a while ago.. and now ( a couple days later ) having the same problem execpt its been ALMOST three weeks and instead of brown its orange...

I almost dozed off around 3 pm and my phone rang. A telemarketer call came in. It made me come wide awake. I had to go to the dentist early this morning, so my usual routine of going to bed immediately after I get home flopped.
Now I have a headache, my back hurts and I feel exhausted, but cannot sleep. Any ideas on how to go to sleep or should I just wait until dark and go to bed like normal?

i'm afraid when i wear pads it will leak and go on my pants, and everyone will see and laugh. what do you wear when you have your period? your normal clothes or do you wear darker colors? what's a good way to make sure it wont leak through? thanks! :)

I got a razor bump in my armpit while I was shaving. It looks a little bit like a wart (disgusting, I know). It's been there for almost a year now. I just kept hoping it would go away but it hasn't. I really don't want to go to a doctor for it. Are there any easy ways to get rid of it at home? Thank you!

I am on the pill (Yaz) now for about 4 months now and this is the first time that this has happened to me before..ever.. i got my period on Sat. then it stopped on Thurs. It then came back 2 days later on Friday and I still have it. I dont know what is going on. Please help me, i'm kind of scared. This isn't exactly normal. What is it? what can i do?..or if anything what the hell is wrong with me?

In January of this year, I had an UTI. (Urinary tract infection) I took medication for it. Since then I've had about 2 mild cases. Today another one started and it HURTS! I've never been in so much discomfort. Why am I having so many in a short period of time? I shower/clean everyday and I pee every time after sex.

Who's ever peed their pad, and did it help?

Here's my story:

Once I was stuck in a car and I needed to go really badly, for like an hour. And I realized that I was about to have an accident, so I was trying to protect the car seat (and my pants) and grabbed two of the pads I had in my purse. Then, I stuck them in my underwear. I realized that there was a box of tissues next to me so I just pulled like all of them out, and stuck them over my pad. Then, I just let go and relieved myself. Like 10 gallons of pee, seriously. It almost worked, but the sides of the underwear were very wet, which also caused some of my pants to get wet too, but overall I guess it was okay. Now I keep some diapers in the glove compartment, and they work well. I've also discovered that it feels kind of good, but I haven't had an experience like this since.

So, who's had an experience like this one?

I just returned from the gyno, and was told to monitor my blood pressure -- when he took it, it was 140/100. Normally, my blood pressure is perfect! I was VERY nervous - this was a new doctor for me, and he took my blood pressure before right the exam. I even told him i was nervous. WHen I came home and took it, and it was 1203/83.
This happen to anyone else???
