I have had the iud since 9/2003 I lost my period shortly after i got it. I had some sparadic periods maybe 2 or 3 times a year but thats all now I have had my period steady for the last 3 months as it was before i had my iud put in. Is it possible that with 1 yr left on my iu the hormones have worn off. I dont want to get pregnant please give me some advice do i need to replace it or am I good till the end of the ;ast year

I'm not an OB/GYN but I have had some issues with bleeding as a side effect from getting used to being on one brand of birth control pill for a while when it comes to the way in which I take it for medical problems.

Based on this yes, it is possible that your body could be either immune to the product or the hormones wearing out. I would definitely recommend getting in touch with your OB/GYN to let them know what is going on to see what they think.
