I've heard before that you should always sleep on your back, no matter what. I've also heard that this is a very poor idea, because it's not good for the back, and that you should sleep on your right side (sleeping on the left can damage the heart). And I've heard that sleeping on one's stomach is the worst thing a person can do. Can someone please clear this up- which position should a person sleep in to insure optimum health and well-being? And does anyone have any thoughts on pillows (is it better to sleep with or without one)?

Thanks!

my left pinky gets this numb tinglly feeling to it. almost like it "fell asleep" and this feeling in it last for a couple hours or a couple days. why is it doing that? did i pull a nerve? or did i hurt a disk in my spine? could my shoulder be dislocated and i dont even know about it? is there anything i can do to make this not happen? is it life threatening?
please help me out. if anything it is just a really annoying feeling.

I'm 57 (no this isn't just a site for the under 20's!) and for the past couple of years have got by on about 6 hours - sometimes 5 and a half hour's sleep a night. I don't usually feel tired the next day so does my body ensure I always get the sleep I need and no more? If I keep trying to go back to sleep - I often end up feeling less refreshed and more groggy. Anyone with similar experiences?

When one swallows and it causes coughing and gasping we tend to say, "It went down the wrong pipe." If it really goes down the wrong pipe, where does it end up in our body? If it is in the lungs or somewhere else, how would our bodies expel it? If we don't expel it, what happens to it?

Hey does anyone know what is wrong with me and my family? We all feel like are body is being shifted to one side, hard to keep eyes open, stumach feels like it is in knots, when we eat we get sicker, constipated ( sorry if TMI ) can't sleep, ear ache, headache, and we all feel, soar like we have been working out all day.

I'm college student, and for the past 5 weeks I am having real trouble falling asleep. It takes me about 1-3 hours to drift into a light sleep, and if anyone or anything makes a sound I wake up and it's all over again. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thank you.

I have been on adderall for 3 months now. Works great really able to focus. Last couple of weeks feeling depressed and forgetful, starting to affect work. Dr added 50mg PO zoloft 3 days ago. On day 2, my throat started feeling thick and harder to swallow. Could this be a reaction?

Since yesterday my boyfriend has had this pressure or sharp pain at his temples, he takes ibuprofen and it slacks off but it doesn't go away. This morning he had a bad nose bleed. And every time he gets the pressure or sharp pain he says that he feels really hot like he's burning up. And that he's been a little dizzy. He says that the dizziness comes and goes. Have you ever heard of this or experienced something like this? Do you know what this is?

Thanks for your answers. And please no "go to the doctor" answers he's going to go to one.

I have been looking at studies on how the phase of the moon affects people. Half say the moon makes no difference at all while the other half says that the moon's phases make a huge difference.
I am very interested in your opinions and experiences. Please don't direct me to any websites.

Ok I saw a guy a few months ago (I also saw a quick flash of the same condition on a preview of Nip/Tuck last night) the fingers are fused together and it looks like a crab claw. What is this called? and what causes it?
