our body is not made out to NOT SLEEP ! but in some circumstances, we need to be awake. Well my advice is that if you are falling asleep you should just go out and run a couple of laps, that way your pulse would be racing and you will feel energised, but don't do this for long cause if you don't sleep, the amount of illness that will surface does not do you good one bit ! Cheers

I used to work the night shift at a large airport. I used to smoke like crazy, drank gallons of coffee and never ever ate while at work. If my belly got full I knew I would be in trouble as far as trying to remain awake.
Incidentally, I have since quit work, I don't smoke anymore, I do not drink coffee any more, and I eat like crazy.

Considering crack, LSD, speed, and cocaine aren't viable options... just have a lot of caffeine and keep your brain occupied. It usually helps me to take a nap in the day when I know I'll be put on the overnight shift. Good luck.
