Buy some Ocean drops at the pharmacy. It's just a simple nasal spray saline solution. Have your son spray his nose every night before bed and several times during the day.
Spontaneous nosebleeds can be a symptom of a more serious problem, so if the saline spray does not help, talk to your doctor.

Don't worry about it unduly. If he's had a checkup at the doc's and there are no underlying problems like blood pressure, hemophilia etc then just let them flow. It won't do any harm.
I used to have exactly the same problem when i was a child. I wouldn't even have to touch my nose and it would pour with blood. I just used to sit with my head over the sink and let it stop on its own. Never did me a bit of harm - honestly.
I very rarely get them now. The only possible side effect i've noticed is that i've never had a headache in my life - ever. Doctors reckon this is quite possible. My mum was the same; huge nosebleeds as a child but never had a headache in her life either.
As long as he's healthy, don't worry. The body is quite capable of letting off pressure through the very delicate capillaries in the nose. Having them cauterised or anything invasive is not necessary unless they are really affecting his life.
They always look really bad but they're not.

I suffered from bad nose bleeds when I was a child so when I was about 13 I had my nose corterized(not sure if I've spelt it right) and this stopped the problem.
My son also has a lot of nose bleeds so I asked the GP if he could have his done, but he said that they don't do it any more. The only time they would do it was if my son had a nose bleed that wouldn't stop and he went to A&E.
This may not be the case where you live.See your GP and ask his advice.

This used to happen to my 12 yr old from the ages of 3 - 9. It only happens once in blue moon now. I had taken him to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. I was told that it was some kind of sore in nose and that it would heal on its own. We were also told to run the humidifier when he slept (when his nose dried up - it would bleed). When he did have the gushing bleeding, he would need to blow his nose hard, to get the clot to come out. Then it would slow down. Gross, but it worked.

Yikes. This appears like my twin sister too. even as she replaced into youthful, she might want to rouse randomly contained in the approach the nighttime to a nosebleed. It replaced into virtually bloody homicide now and again. the truth you informed us about the dry Texan air facilitates somewhat. attempt putting a humidifier in his room. even as the blood vessels contained in the nostril get too dry, they could burst all of sudden. The humidifier can make the air moist in his room. Now, if he does have a nosebleed contained in the approach the nighttime, attempt putting a towel over the realm to avert extra bleeding on the sheets. also, attempt putting ice on the nostril the position that is bleeding. this may freeze the blood and give up the bleeding. make confident that once the bleeding stops he does proceed wiping his nostril. this may reason the bleeding to commence again. to make confident that there's no medical issue, take him to the well-being care specialist. i have heard that continually nosebleeds mean a baby is in probability for leukemia. it really is what made my mom take my twin to the well-being care specialist. that is more effective to be probability-free than sorry. desire this allows!!!

you do not say what age the child isi presume very young, it is
not unusual for young children to have nose bleeds especially if you have central heating in the house. as the air becomes very dry so does the lining of the child's nose which cracks and bleeds ,a good remedy is to hang a damp towel over the radiator in his bedroom this should create enough moisture in the air to stop the problem

You need to take him to an ears, nose and throat doctor. My son did this also, pretty scary, the first time I was mortified at the amount of blood there was. Anyway, the doctor said he needed a small blood vessel in his nose cauterized. He refused to have it done and still at certain times of the year he has problems....he's considering it now. Good Luck

could be allergies. my son had this issue also. the doctor prescribed him allergy meds and said to line the inside of his nose with vaseline before he goes to bed at night. its scary looking, but unless you cant stop the bleeding i wouldnt get overly concerned about it. it looks like a lot of blood but its not really. we started the meds and vaseline about 3 weeks ago and hes only had 2-3 nose bleeds since. he was having 3-4/week. good luck. call the dr if youre very concerned

There's a lot of reasons for nosebleeds - allergies, anaemia, high blood pressure.
If he's getting them frequently and severely, it's worth getting it checked out as there's many things that can be done to prevent them happening.
The following page details a number of treatments for nosebleeds caused by different things:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nose_bleed
Get it checked out by a doctor as to what may be causing the nosebleeds. It could be fixed as simply as just a change in diet, or it may need surgery (don't worry, it's not as drastic as it sounds) to stop them happening.
Good luck!

I too suffered this some 40 years ago and the GP told Mum "He'll grow out of it eventually"!
Which I did - but hopefully GP's are a tad more helpful nowadays. Seek professional advice.
