First Aid

I am at work, in a hospital. I watch telemetry, basically watch patient's hearts beat and try to determine if they are having fatal arrhythmias. HOWEVER, I sit in this tiny 4ft x 4ft room to do this, in the dark, with the air vent directly above my head. I am so cold my bones are achy. I have taken blankets from the warmer, jogged in place, drunk coffee... the thermostat can not be changed.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO?

I am not allowed to leave this room. I am to watch these monitors at all times. HELP!

my sunburn hasnt advanced to the blistering/peeling stage yet--right now it stings. I heard that potatos work? wuld vinegar b ok at this stage ?(might be a bit too severe?) Got any home remedies?

i'm a line cook at a high volume restaurant. through my own and another's stupidity i got splattered with hot butter from a blackening skillet. my arm got the brunt of it but one drop hit my forehead. i had to stay and cook so i couldn't rinse it much for about 1/2 an hour. i held ice to it on and off so as to hopefully cool it without damaging the tissue by freezing it.

now i am home and i have rinsed it for about 15 min in the shower with cool water. i still feel a little sting so i am going back in to rinse some more. i have a raised reddish mark on my forehead. what can i do to minimize scarring?

I burned my hand about 3 hours ago. The pain is unbearable. I have burns/blisters on all 5 of my fingers. My thumb and pinkey are the worst, they are both swelled pretty bad. I have to keep ice on it constantly or else the pain becomes unbearable. But I feel dumb going to the ER/doctor... Do i really need to, or is this something that can just be handled at home, and how?

When i move my shoulder ther is a bad pulling feeling going down my arm...a pulling feeling going down my shoulder blade on my back...and just a really bad pain at the top of my shoulder. I know i need to tell a teacher...but which one do i tell? My friend actually thinks it is on the verge of popping out..

My ears have been pierced since October 11th but I changed them for the first time on Christmas day. About a week later my right ear was hurting so I took it out to look at it better. It was dropping big drops of blood! I cleaned my ear with anteseptic and put the earring back in. It looks fine on the front but the back of the ear is red and dried blood and all crusty. It doesn't hurt unless I touch it back there. I am wearing 14 karot gold earrings and my left ear is fine. I rotate my earrings to make sure they don't get stuck and healed to the earring. I can rotate the left one fine with no problem without it getting stuck at all. When I rotate the right one I have to twist a bit more to get it around. Is it just irritated and not quite healed yet or what?

A spider bit me yesterday. It hurts like hell. It is red and puffy. The redenss is about an inch all the way around the bite and it feels like there is a hard knot under the bite. I can't afford to go to the doctor right now. Any suggestions? I am soaking it in ebsom salt and putting neosporin and meat tenderizer on it (webmd said that may help). But I am in serious pain.

I have a infection in a total knee replacement they have taken all the hardwear out at this time... They are treating with antiobic's at this time... What has me worried is this............. over the night I have woke up with a blister on the top of me knee. the blister is very sore and warm to touch... the blister is about 1 1/2 inch around.... what could this be ??? is it ok to put heat on it ??? or cold packs ??? should i just keep a eye on it ???
help if you can???
With it being the weekend now the doctor is not going to be in his office ???

Ok I used a new razor and I cut myself a good one this time and It won't stop bleeding. I put a wrap and stuff on it and that did stop it but once I took it off the layer that clotted came off and it started again.

Is there anything that I can do. Buy something to make it stop because that is something that stiches won't fix?
