Had x-rays, nothing broken. Told to rest, ice, etc. Was given an air cast and crutches. Can put some weight on the ankle, but is very swollen across the top of my foot. Today I have a fever of 100 degrees. Could this be caused by the sprain? Or just coincidence? Could this be something serious?

My shoulder cracks and pops when i move it and it has been harder for me to move it and it hurts me every day. I am just wondering what it could be caused from. i can think of 2 possibilities, that i have been able to pop my shoulders in and out of socket my whole life (im only 20) and that i am a waitress and i carry trays that are too heavy for me that i shouldnt be carrying......what could it be..

If a person has lost every shred of dignity and wants to go, why shouldn't they be allowed? We put animals down for less. If it is supervised by at least 3 or 4 independent doctors who have decreed the person able to make up their own mind, should they be allowed to go in a quick, painless and dignified way?

Okay, I dont need any "smart" answers.

I live in a rural area, going to the doctor with three kids in tow is a lot of work. I just would like some advice.

Last night I punctured my knee with a toothpick - it was imbedded in the couch and my knee went straight down onto it. It is only a small hole, there was very little blood. At first, the whole knee and down to my ankle hurt, then it seemed to get better. When I woke up, it was on fire. I have had to limp around all day. No redness, no swelling, you can't even see that anything happened, but my whole knee hurts. Every once in a while it gives out and I have to catch myself. If I call the doctor, they will automatically say to come in, but I am hoping it will just get better on its own.

Any ideas as to whether or not this will resolve itself? :)

Every winter I get pains in my fingers at the joints especially on my thumbs. I am only in my 20's, but do you think that this is a sign that I might get arthritis when i'm older? Or is it something common that happens to most people in the winter?

Sometimes, after I wake up, I notice that my left side hurts a little. I can't say exactly if it's a dull pain or a stabbing pain because it's a very low-grade pain (and it's sort of a light stabbing feeling and a dull feeling mixed together, if that makes any sense). It *sort* of feels like the early beginnings of indigestion (that weird "air-in-the-gut" feeling) but it goes away after a few minutes and I'm fine again. I'm not quite sure if the feeling is in my intestines or somewhere else in the vicinity (maybe a kidney? I don't think the pain radiates to the back though... not positive).

The pain is generally in the area above my hip, in the curvature. It isn't a muscle ache or cramping feeling though. The first time I felt this pain was a few days before my period and I am currently still on my period (it's finishing up, I think). I've also been stressed for a month or so now so could that be an issue?
