Every winter I get pains in my fingers at the joints especially on my thumbs. I am only in my 20's, but do you think that this is a sign that I might get arthritis when i'm older? Or is it something common that happens to most people in the winter?

Visit your doctor to put your concerns at ease. You don't know for sure, but it isn't necessarily arthritis since it happens in cold weather only. Yes, lots of people notice joint pain in cold weather, but see the doc and have it checked out now to avoid it getting worse. I hope the doctor helps so you won't have to suffer the pain. Take care.

I have psoriatic arthritis (arthritis as a result of psoriasis) and I'm only 29 and it seems to get worse in the winter. To be honest, I would go to the doctor because if it is arthritis, you don't want to leave it go too long without treatment. But it could be a number of different things so best go and get it properly diagnosed. Good luck!

That does sound like the early stages of arthritis.
Get yourself some Movelat cream from the chemist, it is supposed to help with mild arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, which flares up more in cold weather. If it works and the pain subsides, then you'll definitely know it's early stages of arthritis.
If it's still hurting, it could be something else, like bad circulation.

There are 100s of different types of artheritis. I was diagnoded in my late 20s. I didn't believe that I could have this disease at my age, so I didn't follow-up. The pain and joint stiffness only got worse, especially in the winter. I went to the doctor, he gave me some meds that helped. Go to the doctor, it won't go away.
