General Health Care - August 2006

I have the worst case of insomnia I ever heard of. It's been going on for a couple years, now, but lately it's been getting worse (the basic cause is Clinical Depression, for which I'm being treated).

The question is: is it safe to take two Somniex, instead of the recommended one? One does absolutely nothing at all.

I'd kill for a good night's sleep.

I am curious as to why people reject the idea that we live within an eco-system which we need to protect if we are to survive.

Why are people against conserving water, or using renewable resources over non-renewable?

I am not asking this as some judgemental activist, I have been raised in Australia where conserving water is not a choice - towns here have literally had to truck water in for years!

I don't understand why some people get angry if you suggest that we should cut back on our use of resources, especially when it won't really affect our lives to do so.

with a blood pressure of 110/86, it feels like pressure in my head, and my head is hot and I'm sweating. I feel dizzy and earlier today on my way to work, I felt like I was going to pass out. I took extra strength Tylenol earlier today and Motrin 800 a couple of hours ago but neither worked. Does anyone have suggestions what I should do or what it could be? Thanks.

My school starts at 7:30 am. My bus leaves at about 7 am. What time should I wake up to get ready?? And I like to wake early so I'd have time to finish other things like work, chores really quick, etc. I currently wake up at 6:00am..I'm thinking I shouldn't. i have a pinched nerve in the neck and it is causing a little bit of numbness in left hand shoulder area . lat downs tend to pop and release the disc in question and shoulder press and military press tend to agrevate them .

I was in a plane crash when I was 15, and broke my tibia right below my knee. Over time, the jagged tibial plateau wore away the cartilage. I had an arthroscopy and chondroplasty on my knee back in January, and I am having trouble accepting the results. Basically, they had to cut out over half the cartilage in my right knee, it crackles every time I move it, I can't do any athletic activities besides swimming, walking, or light aerobics, I will need a new knee in about 10 years, then I will have another 10-15 years on that, and then I'm either in a wheelchair or an amputee by age 45 - 50. And it hurts like hell. I take a lot of calcium and glucosamine every night which helps. Anyone out there who knows what I am dealing with and has any knowledge that might help?

My girlfriend and I were involved in a re-end accident and the other drive admitted fault immediately. All insurances were contacted and his insurance took the blame. We both went to urgent care to get checked out and paid our two 10 $ co-pays through our health insurance. I was fine, about 15 xrays... She was swollen in the neck with whiplash, about 15 xrays.

We went to see his insurance agent and they wanted to settle right then. The lady mis-lead us by saying they would get the total charge of the urgent care visits, and re-imburse us the full price. She also said the money for the after care would be paid out to us as well and to just use our insurance... So we think the deal is good and sign the papers.

We talk to a few people and they tell us, my health insurance is going to come looking for that money.

Is it true that my health insurance will be expecting this money back?

Also, if we signed their papers, is there any way to get out of it because she lied?

So I have really dry cracked heels. They are hard and bleed sometimes. I have tried EVERY lotion to soften them up but they only work for a few days. Does anyone know what works? Also should I go to a foot doctor or a skin doctor?
