Find out what the FMLA policies are , they differ with every company. I know that my mother was able to take FMLA when I had surgery because I needed someone to basically take care of me until I healed.

It would be best to contact your Human Resources representative. Most often there is a HR or internal website for employees which post all policies including FMLA/ PTO/ etc... all online. These policies will outline all the specifics you would need to know, especially your eligibility. Best of luck!
