Skin Conditions - February 2007

I have incredibly itchy legs. I've tried lotions and exfoliating, and shaving frequently, and shaving not as frequently, and nothing has worked.

Any suggestions or similar experiences?

our professor asKed us to make soaps with chocolate extracts provided they have good effects on skin.. Can u help me.. I also nEed ingredients and instructions on how to prepare that kind of soap.. I need a reliabe source.. thanks ! God Bless!

Yesterday I was packing my house so I had to throw away chunks of wood, and by accident I think I might haf gotten a small piece in my hand. N it's aching like hell. Anyone haf any idea what I should do? If I would to c a doc, which doc should I c? Could i jus go to any nearby clinic?

I have tinea versicolor on my stomache and lower back.My doc gave me a lotion for it but also told me to buy selsun blue and use it as a body wash daily and shampoo weekly.Am i suppose to lather with selsun blue,rinse,and use my dove body wash after?Or am i suppose to replace my body wash with the selsun blue all together?How long should I leave the selsun blue on my body before i rinse?Oh and how long should I leave it on m scalp before I rinse?

My son visited Gold Coast in Australia along with his family for a ten day holiday. Although he stayed in a good resort there which was airconditioned and also applied creams to protect himself while going out, he now finds that his skin is severely burnt. I am using Zovirax cream to treat my cold sores. I'm supposed to apply it every two to three hours and have been applying it about every two hours while I'm awake. However, my face is itching now. I realize that I shouldn't scratch it, which I'm not. Should I start applying the Zovirax every three hours? Will that help, or is there anything I can do to reduce the itching? It's not too bad, I just want to know if that will help.

I have bitten my nails for almost my whole life. Just recently I let them grow. They are now long.. I also have a bad habit of picking things.. Scars, zits, etc. Now, because I have the long nails making it easier to pick things, my face has gotten worse.

Know of anything I can do about it? I really try not to do it, but it's just a really bad habit...

i stopped using my harsher 'acne' things because they were drying out my skin so i just used aveeno for my cleanser & st. ives scrub for sensitive skin. BUT i got three pimples since then and my skin has been bad... it probably is hormonal (im on my period).. but i want to avoid having these pimples and the kind of acne (its not really bad, its more mild but there) on my forehead. any simple suggestions?

I have really really bad acne. It is all over my forhead and on my cheeks too. It looks hideous and at first I thought the breakout would just clear because I'd never had problems with my skin before. But it hasn't. It just keeps getting worse and worse no matter what I do. I've been getting more and more zits since last summer. I wash my face and I've tried all those masks and soaps and toners and stuff and nothing is working. I've also cut out fried foods and stuff just because I'm trying to watch my heath. What should I do now? This phase isn't blowing over. Is my only hope going to see a dermatologist?

I used to be on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen for my acne. It was the best thing for my skin and it worked beautifully. It was the only thing that has ever worked for my acne. I took it for almost a year and then just stopped. I would like to be put back on it b/c my acne is just getting out of control, however, my mom is not pleased with putting me back on it. Is there anyway I could get it from Planned Parenthood or something? HELP!!!
