I have really really bad acne. It is all over my forhead and on my cheeks too. It looks hideous and at first I thought the breakout would just clear because I'd never had problems with my skin before. But it hasn't. It just keeps getting worse and worse no matter what I do. I've been getting more and more zits since last summer. I wash my face and I've tried all those masks and soaps and toners and stuff and nothing is working. I've also cut out fried foods and stuff just because I'm trying to watch my heath. What should I do now? This phase isn't blowing over. Is my only hope going to see a dermatologist?

Over washing your skin creates a bigger mess. After a couple of hours, oil production goes crazy and your face turns into an oil slick, as I'm sure you've noticed. Stop washing it so much with so much crap. Just use a plain, mild, unscented and dye-free glycerin soap for awhile. After I stopped using all of that crap like neutrogina, Clearasil, etc, my acne cleared up significantly. It'll take a few days for your skin to balance out, so don't give up when your skin gets oily for the first few days. I used to get the deep, painful cystic pimples that would never come to a head. Those went away.

Drink ALOT of water. Not getting enough water doesn't allow you to sweat out impurities and toxins that you're body is storing. Excercise. This sweats out the oil and other yuck. You may notice your skin get worse for a few days, but it will get better. I use pure, cold pressed, high quality extra virgin oilve oil as a moisturiser. You only need literally 1-2 drops out of like an eye dropper, rub the palms of your hands together and pat it on your skin. If you use this, buy tiny bottles as olive oil can go rancid if not stored in an air tight container, and most bottles aren't air tight.

If you pop a pimple, put neosporin on it. This will help it heal faster and reduce scarring.

I don't know if you're male or female, but birth control can help if you're female. It helped mine mildly. It's helped other womens acne significantly. YMMV.

If natural remidies work, they're always better and cheaper than trips to the doctor or fancy washes and toners.

I know, being a teen is rough sometimes! But you shouldn't give up! What I'm going to do it give you a bunch of recommendations. Now, these products and tips I'm going to give you are not pricey nor hard to keep up with so no worries. 1. Drink lots of water, and I mean lots! Water keeps skin hydrated and keep your skin clear. + also try drinking green tea ! 2. Exercise! Just trust me ;) 3. Don't eat or drink greasy/sugary things. At least keep it on the down low because those foods make your skin oily and break out easily and fast. Avoid pop, candy, fried foods and fast food. 5. Wash your face no more than 2 times a day. In the morning and before you go to bed. 6. Try wearing makeup no longer than 8 hours a day. 7. DON'T touch your face or pick on it. On your fingers and in your nails there are lots of germs and bacteria that may affect your face when touched. 8. When treating acne try more natural remedies at home. Don't go for the chemically filled products - they don't work well and dry out your skin. 9. Stress level must go down. Many people breakout because of stress. 10. Accept it and accept yourself! If you have a bit of acne, it wont be there forever and lots of people your age have it! You're not the only one ! Here are products that I use: I had some body breakouts and I used : BODY CLEAR® Body Wash Pink Grapefruit by Neutrogena and Neutrogena Body Clear Body Spray which worked really well. For my face I use : Clean and Clear advantage blackhead clearing astringent and tea tree skin clearing foaming cleanser which is from the Body Shop in Canada, so if you live in Canada your in luck if you want to get it. Otherwise, try getting something natural and/or oil-free. Exfoliating (you should do like 3 times a week) : Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub Mask (twice a week) : Honey and Oat 3-in-1 scrub mask from The Body Shop . Find a mask that will work for you ! All masks work pretty well. I like the one I used because it cleanses, polishes and moisturizes. For healing acne scars : I use vitamin E oil for it fades scars and promotes faster healing. *Hope this works for you! If it doesn't work the way you wished, consider visiting a dermatologist ! GOOD LUCK!

Make an appointment with a dermatologist since they study ways to take care of skin problems. I am using olive oil now myself and i will try to cut out some fat. I use butter as well instead of margarine. I am much older but am trying to help my health Maybe they can tell you what foods to avoid as each person is different. I wish you good luck in getting over this problem. Get your appointment soon to prevent scaring.

It depends on the type of acne you have. First go see a dermatologist, he/she will recommend weather to try proactive or accutane. Both will work. Accutane is a six month treatment with blood tests and the works. If it is really bad this will be the treatment of choice. Good luck, I went through it to.

you should go to the dermatologist!!! i know that it seems like a pain, but nothing is going to help you as much as a dermatologist. my doc told me that proactiv(while i know that it works for some acne) made my face worse because it changed the ph of my face. in the meantime, try tea tree oil ( supermarket vitamin section) on your pimples. or crush up an aspirin and make it into a paste with water. it wont cure it , but it will help until you go to the doctor. tea tree oil will burn a little..

call a derm!!!!!!!!!!!
