To avoid it in the future, just don't wear shoes for a while after being in a public place barefoot.
The fungus thrives in moist, warm, dark areas.

DONT spend your money on expensive foot creams/powders a cheaper way to go is to pour some listerine into a foot bath, don't dilute, and soak for about 5 min. It will burn but the bacteria that is causing the problem will be gone. LISTERINE>

Treat it!! Go buy some Tinactin sparay or cream and rub it on or spray it on and keep your feet dry at all times, wear cotton socks and let your shoes air out and dry out completely before you wear them again, also put powder in the shoes to help keep your feet dry.

This really works. When you shower, close the drain and pour maybe a quarter cup of clorox bleach in, soak feet maybe 2 mins.
Should clear it up in 1-2 days.

You need to apply cream or spray every single time you dry yourself after bathing. And after the symptoms go away for a week and a half afterward or it will come back!
