I just finished Rituxan chemotherapy. For some reason my medical insurance did not cover the treatment. Now I owe the hospital $40,000 (for 4 treatments). My doctor says if the Rituxan doesn't work...we will do another treatment. That will mean, I will have to come up with $80k. I just want to get better and have a chance of living a normal life, (I am only 28). I can't believe that in the US, a person should have to go through the stress of being sick and then have to deal with being in major debt. It seems like every day there is some sort of fundraising done to benefit cancer and other illnesses...but who is there to help the people that are sick and can't pay thier bills? Is there some type of organization that can help me? I can't tell you how much easier my recovery would be without the stress of money. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, does anyone know how much (or little) a hospital will let you pay each month to avoid sending you to collections? Thank you for your advice!

Before anyone gets upset with me, I am aware of some folks wanting to remain anonymous , but I am not ashamed of my recovery, I'm proud of it.

I'm in college and a bunch of my friends and I suspect a girl that we are kind of friends with might have an eating disorder. She never eats a thing even though some days we are at school for 9 or 10 hours, she wont have anything even if we offer it around to share with everyone. She only drinks a diet pop or chews gum. She goes to the gym alot too. Her legs are really thin and her arms too, but shes got a bit of a belly (almost looks pregnant) her cheeks are chubby like bulimics get, her breath is really bad and her nails are brown and stained. We dont feel we know her well enough to say anything to her about it and its getting hard to be her friend when her breath makes you want to vomit and she gets cranky if you offer her food. If someone even mentions an eating disorder in one of our classes she gets nervous and shaky. What can we do to help her without makeing her hate us? should we report it to one of the instructors?

My mom may have a sleep disorder and we do not know what it is. She falls to sleep very easy, all she has to do is lay down. Half the time she is not even tired. Then when morning comes she has trouble waking up. Someone has to call her in order for her to wake up all the way or she will fall back to sleep. She is not having irregular dreams or breathing patterns, but I am very concerned about her.

Nobody can figure out why the pressure in my head is so high. The last spinal tap it was 41. They also found an ovarian cyst. Could this be causing the pressure to be so high?

I have celiac disease. Here are the complications I've had so far, and I"m wondering if others have them too, and what you've done... or any recommendations. Anything helps! I'm not eating gluten anymore, but I still have a messed up system.
Turning vegan helped a bit with fatigue.
psoriasis, anemia, fatigue, poor immune system, dry skin, depression, headaches, random tummy pains once in a while, sore joints (I'm 21--shouldn't have those!), and dry, brittle nails and hair.
One big ball of sexiness, to be sure.

I don't want to hear from people telling me it's quackey becuase I know that most people who say that stuff have never tried it. The science behind it is interesting, has anyone ever tried it and/or had success with it?
