I tend to suffer from headaches and migraines but for the last 10 days I have been waking up with a headache. I was once advised by my GP that it could be Cluster Headaches. Has anyone got any info on that please?

Yes, go to a doctor who can treat you properly.

I have had migraines and cluster headaches for 20 years, now
there are so many new 'great' meds on the market, it is a shame
not to use them. They are great, non addictive and deal only
with the head pain.

If your GP has no knowledge of this, ask him to send you
to a neurologist.

Honest, it is wonderful to have no pain.

good luck to you

First I think you need to find out if that is in deed what you are getting. Go to your doctor to get a definite diagnosis.

I'm just curious, do you take something for a headache almost everyday? I used to get headaches daily for years, it turned out to be rebound headaches caused by the medicine I was taking to stop them. I finally seen a neurologist and he told me to stop any and all medications. Once I stopped taking the medicine and went through some serious pain for a few days things got better. If I seem to get a headache for a couple of days, which isn't very often I will go see my chiropractor and then I'm okay.

I included a website you might find helpful!
Good luck, I know headaches are hell!!

Try an ice cold shower & drink copious amount of water 4/5 litres a day. Avoided alcohol completely. Also coffee can increase the effectiveness of some pain killers so have a cup or two a day. Leave a window open at night get plenty of fresh air , All of the above helped me but none is a magical cure and definitely go a see your doctor.

This sounds insane, but eat a really small potato (like those little ball ones or half of those small red ones) right before going to bed. Don't put anything but salt on it (no butter or milk). This wil adjust your waking insulin and you'll awaken headache free. tay away from sugar for a few days too. That should do it.

I really hope you haven't got cluster headaches....nearly drove me to suicide with the pain, anyway, first cut out any dietry things that might be triggers, such as cheese, coffee and chocolate. I tried many combinations of commercial drugs and stuff the doc prescribed, found it cured one thing but caused other problems like giddyness, nausea, nose-bleeds even doublevision at one stage....but in the end found out that bach flower remedies and a tincture of feverfew worked for me - try and find a homeopathic doctor - i hope you find quick and lasting relief - from a fellow sufferer

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or
neck. Headaches can becaused by minor problems like
eyestrain, lack of coffee or moreserious reasons like

Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side

If you feel a migraine coming on drink a couple of tumblers of water immediately. Dehydration makes the headache worse, but if you drink far more water than you would do normally then this often stops it in its tracks. AND ITS FREE!
I have also seen a double layered vinyll skull cap for sale. Instead of inflating it you fill it with icy chilled water and you can even sleep in it. (I havent tried this last remedy myself but lowering the brain temperature should work).

I suffer from headaches almost everyday for about two weeks then they go away for a while and before I know it they are back. I went to my doctor and she prescribed Darvocet for me and it seems to help. It relieves the headache and keeps it away.
