my spiritual connection, god, keeps me motivated. You can go through aa and still have an emptiness inside you. the emptiness can only be filled by God. It's as simple as just asking him to change your life. Do that, and you will begin to see changes in your life.

I have been a continuously sober Friend of Bill for 20 years. I am motivated by remembering the person I become when I take a drink, and how that person hurts the ones she loves. I stay motivate by helping those who need my help. Consider reading the 12 tradition. I am anonymous, not because I care who knows I am in recovery, but so that I cannot blame my alcoholism for any bad behavior I have when I am sober, I have to stand on my own without excuses.

I quit going to meetings last year. Apparently I experienced a miracle because I no longer have the craving or desire to partake. Since going to meetings seemed superflous, I quit. I haven't partaken since. What motivates me for staying off is simply... life. I don't want to die anymore. Simple.

im a member of a yahoo group, called without aa. its a group that will open your eyes to how aa is a cult. aa only works for 5 % of people. i always knew that aa could not work for me, because i could not put up with all the bs in aa people i was in and out of the rooms for 11 years, now i am doing better than i ever did. not because of not going to aa but knowing something else was out there that would work. keep your eyes and ears open for awhile, good luck to you.

"hear" is what your ears do. "can you hear that noise?" "i heard you were sick."

"here" is the opposite of there. "what's going on here?" "here you go."

and no, i'm not in a 12 step. i've seen to many other people go through it, so i decided to just not get addicted in the first place.
