I've just got my blood pressure measured. It is 168/76.
Is this correct. I thought sistolic and diastolic is suppose to rise at same time ( im 31). Should i get it measured again. What does this mean?? Does this indicate a medical condition??

22 year old male, pack a day smoker. Born with mild heart murmur but grew out of by age five. No symptoms of heart attack or angina. Pain is not associated with excercise or eating. Pain I would describe as an ache, not sharp without feeling of pressure. Occurs axp 4 -5 times per week over the past 5 weeks. No changes in lifestyle, diet, exercise or meds. Currently no medications, low activity level. So... I think I've ruled out all the first things that come to mind. I am confident it is originating in my heart, not surrounding tissues. I am perplexed, help?

Please, stay out of this catagory if you are not QUALIFIED to answer medical questions. You may be putting people in great danger. No matter your intention, your OPINION is not appropriate.Even if you can relate to the question because of personal experience, your experience is your experience. You have no idea, nor are you qualified to give medical advise OF ANY KIND. You may think that your answer is helpful, but it is not if you are not medically trained. Also, no matter your answer, you are considered to be giving medical advise, and in that, you are committing a felony. You say, how could answering a simple question be this serious? Well, it is. if you are doubtful, just call your local AMA ,(American Medical Association) and you will be told the same.

ASKING medical questions is as bad. Do you want to take the chance that you are choosing an answer that may put you in grave danger? Do not ask at all.

I have had 2 heart attacks in the past. I have an Internal Cardiac Defribrillator that has never fired. I am tired a lot and can't walk far at all w/out needing to sit, I have to use one of those electric carts in the grocery store. The Doctor thinks my heart may not be pumping a sufficient amount of blood. Can anyone clarify? What's the prognosis if that's the case? I am only 34.

I work in the oil and gas field. A typical day most days are 7:00 am til dark I live in Oklahoma where its not only hot but humid as well. Two summers ago I felt some wierd feelings. Dizzy, cold not sweating. I went home that day and it took me three days to get my energy back. Last summer and this summer too I have developed some new symptoms while working. Like dizzy, burning feeling in both arms my jaws get real tight, my heart starts pound real hard I feel like passing out everytime this happens. April,24, 2006 I did pass out. The docters said it was just anxiety. They gave me meds for this. Meds wasnt helping me and I continued to feel this feeling and passing out. Another doc. said I had lyme disease because I was bit by a tick in march. So, we did a ct,mri eeg ekg still cant find nothin. And I have searched looked and dug up everything I can find. And yes It is still happening. I went back to work two weeks ago three days in I had another attack. Does anyone know whats going on.

Last month I took a blood test, my cholesterol level was of 303.

I was scared, and I started a Detox Diet from my doctor, this type of diet took out all my antioxidants from my body; eating vegetables, organic foods, fruits etc.

I started this diet on May 15, 2006. : Before I start this diet, I felt alot of pain on my chest, back, kidneys, and legs... many headches, my doctor said that it was a closely time to get a heart attack during the next months, but like now I am taking care of myself; I am done with my Detox Diet and my cholesterol went down from 303, to 238, (in 1 month) So anybody knows any diet to reduce cholesterol fast, before the heart attack reaches me!?

I my nephew is 13 years old, but he is very smart and he always is worried about the heart diseases, most of all Arteriosclerosis; and he only wants food in low fat, low satured fat and low cholesterol, low sodium and carbohydrates.

I think that it's an excellent habit, creating at that early age; but the situation is that he is growing and developing himself, and he only drinks fat free milk, I told him that don't be worried about that; he takes care about himself, makes exercise, he eats healthy, salads, fruits etc.

So what can I do? should I explain him well the situation about this topic? or should I take him with a doctor and he explain to him all these types of things, I will be living with him for 3 weeks, during my sister is out of town, he is 1,60cm tall, and he weights 130lbs.

Any suggestions???
