I told some critical care nurses I had an ablation for AV node re-entrant tachycardia and they never heard of it. It is supposed to be a fairly common reason to have an ablation. I am so thankful to have seen a sign board which said "Prairie Heart Institute". Top 5 in the nation. They cured me there. I thought I was going to die and no one would be there when I did it. Dr. Kreigh Moulton is a genius. He fixed my broken heart.

I am 56 years old male. I had a heart attack in 1994 and then quad bypass surgery later that year. I receive a small amount each month from Social Security and I have medicare. I also have Blue Cross of Georgia Insurance. I have not been physically able to work on a regular basis for several years, so I have very little income. I have been told I need a heart transplant. I have no idea how I can possibly pay for he cost for this surgery and the drugs I will need after surgery, along with the follow up visits for 8 weeks immediately after the surgery and the fact that I will have to travel 600 miles round trip. I am in hopes that someone can give me any information about any assistance there may be to help me pay for these cost.

A very good friend of mine , after tests, was told that she may have heart problems. She is to see a heart specialist next week. Her Doctor informed her that her heart was beating slower than normal and that it occassionly missed beats. How serious is this? What are the treatments? My thoughts and prayers are with her.

I quit smoking almost 2 yrs ago and initially attributed my weight gain ( 30lbs) to that..however, I think it is my medication that is preventing weight loss..I have asked my doctor if it is necessary to continue on the diovan and hct and he said yes..I started these meds also 2 years ago when my blood pressure was 176/110..now it is 130/80..I have stopped eating red meat..eliminated desserts..severely curtailed butter from diet..exercised..and my weight does not budge..it is so depressing.

I am a 47 yo male and now weigh about 240

I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I am obese. I have recently lost 30 pounds but it's hard for me to lose more weight. Other than my weight, stress is my only risk factor for a heart attack. I recently started working out in an effort my improve my heart's health. I'm not a diabetic; i don't have high cholesterol.

Just wanted an opinion. I haven't been able to find stats about young adults having heart attacks.

To whom It May Concern

I am searching for information that cardiomyopathy can be brought
on by severe infection. My husband was very healthy until he developed
the resiliant strain of staph in 2004. His whole chest cavity was full
of it and it had started to attack his heart. They don't know how he
got it as he had not had surgery. He had to have surgery to get rid of
it. We had fought it on and off until his death in April of this year.
His cardiomyopathy had not been diagnosed. From what I have learned so
far he died from what is called sudden death from cardiomyopathy. Can
you tell me if the staph could have started the process of
cardiomyopathy? They tell me his heart weighed 445 grams at death.
Can
something like that go so undetected? I am just looking for some
answers. Anything you could do for
me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Janis Dillard
