Usually people with heart disease especially those with heart attacks, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy will be referred to a Cardiac Rehab program. Your cardiologist can refer you to them. In a Cardiac Rehab program, you exercise like on a treadmill based upon your cardiologist's recommendation. Your blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation can be monitor. As you build tolerance and endurance, you are allowed to do more. Cardiac Rehab probably is a good place to start and gives you an idea of how much to do without stressing your heart out too much. I mean if you have a weakened heart and you start running/jogging outside and your heart rate hits 160 or your blood pressure runs up high #1) you may not know about it #2)it could be dangerous for you.

What does the heart Dr say? Most would say as you feel safe {no pain} go for it. Mine keeps after me to get up to 3 miles of walking a day. I am more mobile then a year ago but still not up to 3 miles.

Yes, if following the doctor's instructions. Exercise is beneficial because it gets and keeps the body in good condition, and this contributes to less strain on the heart.

You really need to check with your Cardiologist about this. I don't know your cardiac history. "Heart problem patient" is a very vague way to describe yourself. I have no idea what your cardiac issue is or your current health status. Please, speak to your doctor.
