I am taking medication for high blood pressure. I am in training for and about to compete in a marathon. I know a lot out there would say 'don't do it'. But if I did, does my medication significanly impare my endurance capabality ? Am thinking of not taking the pills to obtain benefits from better blood flow. Will resume the medication after the marathon event.

In April 2006 my blood work showed: Cholesterol 167.6; Triglyceride 220.4 and HDL 38.1. I am talking Lipitor during both of these blood tests.
In October 2006 my blook work showed: Cholesterol 211.1; Triglyceride 143.7 and HDL 48.5.
I listed the HDL because I was afraid the Lipitor was effecting my Good Cholestrol count.
I'm looking for someone that can tell me why my cholestrol went up this time and triglycerides went down and what is my next course of action.

My boyfriend went in for his physical to wrestle and the doctor has a theory that he has a heart condition, either that his heart is too big or there's something else wrong with it. he says it's not a big deal but i'm scared, what should i do? he also took a test and he came back positive for proteinuria, a condition where your kidneys send too much protein back into your body...does anyone know much about all this, i'd really like it if someone could reasure me that everything will be fine...

My husband was diagnosed with a cardiac arrythmia as a result of the chemotherapy and radiation treatment he received for Hodgkin's lymphoma.
He takes 50 mg of a beta blocker daily and his weight and blood pressure are normal. Is this a lifelong treatment? Is he at risk for a heart attack?
