my husband's heart beats in atrial fibulation and the doctor wants to get it beating back to a normal rythm by doing cardio version.
Does anyone know how this is done. Also is it wise to get the heart beating normal if he suffered a mini stroke which was possibly caused by a blood clot.

im waiting on test results to find out if i have a heart problem and untill now i always thought most of the funny stuff my heart does was sorta normal. for instance, when your like laying in bed or sitting quietly can you feel your heart beating in your chest, i mean with out your hands to feel it? does it ever feel like your heart is beating to slowly and to hard like after climbing stairs or getting up quickly? are some people just more aware of their hearts beating?

She lives in another state and her husband has been a little on the shadey side for about the last 2 yrs. He doesnt come home at nite, he treats her badly and she told us the other day he told her she had Alzheimers disease. He sent her home for a visit with Alzheimers dementi? We wonder if he is slipping her drugs. She seems a little sleepy and has terrible diarrhea, and is having some trouble talking. Other than that, she is sharp as ever. Can you get a hair sample checked for poisoning?

I have not been doing any exersize and don't drink or do any drugs.
When I sleep at night and sometimes during the day I get severe cramps in my legs from the groin on down. Sometimes in my hands as well. My large leg muscles jump as it the're having an electrical shock. I am at a loss as who go to. I have been told to see a Rhuematologist. But I don't see the connection. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I also feel as if I have been doing a running marathon. I keep running out of energy during the day. I also take vitamin B complex and vitamin E.

I was put on 25mg of toprol. My heart rate was hovering at 100 and reached 150 when I was having a panic attack. I was having sinus tacycardia. I have been on toprol for about 9 days. My heart rate fluctuates there are times it is 75 and times it is 95. In the morning it is usually 95-105. Is this normal and how long does it take to see the full affect of these meds?

I play lacrosse at a D1 school and have excersised year round for the past two years straight...meaning when i wasnt in season i took no more than 5 days off from my conditioning and only took that many days off 1 or 2 times...my heart has always palpitated a little even since was about 10(im 18 now) recnetly my heart was fluttering a little durring the hard conditioning we do here i told the trainer and i ended up having to see a docotor about it, even though ive told my doctor many times that my heart palpitates(they always say its nothing) anyway, this new doctor that my athletic program uses did an EKG and it was abnormal he said somthing about an enlarged heart and how it might be normal for me since im an athlete but i still have to get more test done. Does any one know anything about this? do you think i will still be able to paly lacrosse, considering ive never had a serious problem excersising? do you think its likely that this is just an athlete thing or somthing worse?
