CK=Creatine Kinase.

In most of the cell, the CK enzyme consists of two subunits, which can be either B (brain type) or M (muscle type).

There are, therefore, three different isoenzymes: CK-MM, CK-BB and CK-MB. The genes for these subunits are located on different chromosomes: B on 14q32 and M on 19q13.

There are no Latin words involved here!

The MB in CKMB stands for the two sub units present in this cardiac enzyme. There are two subunits involved in CK . CK 1 is also called CKBB (B-brain) , CK2 - is CKMB (both subunits are present), CK3 - CKMM (m-muscles). So the MB are subunits.

I think CK stands for cratine kinase which is an enzyme that has three isomer CKmm,CKbb,CKmb.
Now CKmm found mainly in muscular cells that's mean when a person exert a physical activity the muscle cells may rupture and CKmm will be found in the blood,while CKbb is found in the brain so any hurt to brain cells will results in the presence of CKbb in the blood. Now heart muscle is unique in its nature and combine of both isomers.
