My sister does and so did my mom. They found out they had it at a normal/routine checkup when the doc listened to their heart. They only took meds before a dentist appointment. My mom was in her earlier 20's when she found out, my sister was a newborn when they found hers.

Mitral valve prolapse is not serious condition. It can diagnosed any time. We have four kinds of valves in the heart. They called Aortic, Tricuspid, Pulmonary and Mitral. Mitral valve is between your left atrium(upper chamber -left side) and left ventricle(lower chamber left side). During heart activity, contraction and relaxation
that valve slightly propalsed in the left atrium. Physicians were not using medicine for that in past. But now a days some medicine called betabloker(propanolol) is given for that. One may need prophylactic penicillin for some surgical procedure to prevent thromoembolic phenomenon(blood clot). Do not scare by that because thousands of patients lives normal life with that. It is advisable to contact your physician and diagnosis must be done through echo. There is no restriction of any activities.
