Please tell me what you know about this and how I can be of any assistance to him. I live with him and my sister and he is a very nice man. He said the doctor said that the abdominal ultrasound showed the aneurysm at "4.2"; but that she would not consider surgery until it was a "4.5 or more".. what does those numbers mean? Anything you can help me with regarding this would be deeply appreciated!

.....on a scale of heart problems? I know like Hypoplastic left heart is really bad and long QT syndrome is really bad, my thought is that what he has is on the lower end of severity for heart abnormalities.....is it?

I'm a 25 year old grad student and I know my risk factors for a heart attack are low, plus I've been to several doctors in the past week, including my family physician, who have told me that I have a stomach condition like gastritis or acid reflux. I've even been to the Emergency Room and had an EKG and blood test and I still feel anxious about my heart! What is wrong with me?

My family is considering a malpractice suit against a heart doctor that misdiagnosed my 58 yr old father with acid reflux instead of congestive heart failure. This resulted in his death 3 weeks ago. For two months prior he had been through many heart tests and everything came back fine with no blockages. He had a heart attack at 42 and has been under the care of the same physician since. He kept telling the physician that he had really bad acid reflux and was out of breath a lot. She told him what to get over the counter, and that was that. Nothing helped him. And, after a very hard day at work, he died of congestive heart failure. The acid reflux was actually the buildup of water in his body. My question is, if this happaned to you, would you check into getting compensated for the loss of your father? My mother is very ill also, my dad was her rock. My father's sudden death has shocked our family as well as our entire community.

My pastor from my church I just found out had to be taken to the hospitol for heart problems. Just learned that he flatlined once and almost died. On top of that my brothers fiance's pastor had a heart attack in his sleep and she is really hurting right now. Both were and are healthy men. I really care about my pastor and respect him. I just feel so down right now. Any suggestions?

My dad is having angio-plasty tomorrow. He had a stress test and he did well. He has been exercising for a long time and lost alot of weight. When he did his cat scan or MRI, not sure exactly what the procedure was but it look like there were shaded areas. He feels fine. The doctor said that there may be no blockages there at all, he can choose to do the angioplasti or wait, what do you think? Another doctor encouraged him to do it, he is not sure what to do.

I'm 63 and 10 months ago, because I had to have surgery, found out by a EKG that I have PVC's. Went to cardio doc, and wore a monitor, she said I had over 21,000 in a 24 hour period. Normal is about 300. She put me on Coreg to start with 4.5 mg, then will up it slowly. I do a Nuclear tomorrow. Had an echo and the heart is normal and strong. Just the lower left Ventircle is very slightly enlarged but hardly noticable. The doc said it is the electrical system in the heart that is "misfiring" come again???
She may send me to a specialist that does the electrical part.
I've had these so long, I never gave them any thought. I go to the gym and work out 3 tiimes a week, and have lots of energy and no pain. I don't want to take this Coreg because it is supposed to make you tired and fat. I'd rather have a bad heart, then be tired and fat.
That is so depressing to me. Can you live a life with these PVC without medicine? My mom and both her parents had congestive heart disease

I had a pre op evaluation today to prepare for a hernia operation, the doctor I saw is concerned about an irregular heartbeat that I have been being treated for for the past 10 months. He asked that I double my med, which is Verapimil SR 120mg. One in the
morning and one in the evening. 240mg sounds like an awful lot to me. I have a call in to my regular doctor, but while I'm waiting I would like input. I am not in the habit of doubting medical opinions, it's just that my regular doctor is very diligent in discussing everything with me and I thought we were making progress.

My husband found out from an EKG (I think) that he has problem with a "right ventricle tree" I have no idea what that means and I am not getting any conclusive info online. Can anyone tell me what this is? Or what you know of it? Any info would help. He is seeing a specialist in a week, but I can't wait that long!
