What can I eat and drink that won't make me sick. Some of what I have been told is very conflicting and confusing for example, I've heard diet soda is ok, but caffine isn't.
I just don't want to get sick and wind up in the ER again.

I am about 10 pounds overweight and my doctor advised me to eat healthy and exercise regularly. I do both but on occasions I eat sweet snacks. To avoid getting diabetes, should I avoid sugary snacks all together? I go for a yearly check up every year, and my doctor says that I am healthy (besides my weight.)

is on state disability. The ER Dr. wanted to lance it but said it was very dangerous, gave him anitibiotics, & pain meds. Will it go down and heal or what do I need to watch for? Where could I take him if it worsens? ER's are no longer taking patients w/out INs.or $$. VERY Desperate.

Is it possible for a diabetic to request a pancreas transplant? Just curious if there is a waiting list and legal procedure for such a surgery for diabetics.

Lately,i haven't been able to stop peeing, about 8 times if not more daily.which is quite unusul for me
Thing is i haven't really drunk much, although i do feel quite dehydrated at times.
My mother is dibetic, but also if i don't eat something sugary i do feel slightly odd.
This happens to my brother too. Is this normal?

I was recently diagnosed with diabetes I am a 25 year old female who is significantly overweight. I take Metformin and Glyburide and sometimes insulin shots. (They are going back and forth between Type 1 and 2 they are uncertain still of what I am because my weight leans to 2 but my age somehow makes them think 1.) I went DKA 2 months ago since then I have lost more than 50 pounds and I am trying to save myself from the terrible problems that arise with having the disease. (blindness, kidney failure etc.) My grandmother recently told me a friend of her's who has diabetes is taking mangosteen juice and is having great results , Anyone ever tried it ? Or heard anything about it ? I have looked it up but all I am really getting is that it is being studied and there are nothing yet out about its benefits other than testimonials.

He was released from the hospital about 3 weeks ago and they gave me all of his blood results to take with me. His blood sugars are stable right now and we are doing well with managing it. I am just wondering what to expect at the first visit.

I'm in my twenties and recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I'm not over weight, follow a good eating plan and regularly workout. I've put on Actos and check my sugar a few times a day. I find I'm having a hard time coping. I'm depressed and not motivated to do anything. I'm finding it hard to go out and socialize cause it seems like anytime anyone asks me to do anything it revolved around drinking. My dr. told me not to drink til my sugar get under control then I can in moderation. Has anyone gone thru this. How can I feel better bout a disease I know I'll have for the rest of my life.

Your show about the very overweight folks says that the one man can eat $500 worth of food a day. I think he weighed 700 lbs., and the lady said $200 a day or so. How do they afford to pay for all the food when they can't work? Does disability pay enough for all that food?

Since I've started this a month or so ago, my premenstrual symptoms are much improved. (I also cut out caffeine as well.) There is no diabetes on either side of my family, and people think I am "missing out".

I am 16 years old and have a BMI of 18.0. I am very slim and my friends are beginning to worry. However, my main worry is that I begin to physically shake when I am the slightest bit hungry. I drink at least 4 litres of water a day and can't eat a meal without a drink. Because of this I am constantly needing the toilet. I sometimes crave sugary foods and often feel very dizzy and light-headed, as if I could pass out any second, when I don't get my daily intake. Diabetes runs in both sides of my family. How can I make this stop and could this be the beginning of diabetes?
