Lately,i haven't been able to stop peeing, about 8 times if not more daily.which is quite unusul for me
Thing is i haven't really drunk much, although i do feel quite dehydrated at times.
My mother is dibetic, but also if i don't eat something sugary i do feel slightly odd.
This happens to my brother too. Is this normal?
I've also heard urine is ment to smell slightly different if your diabetic, is this true aswell?

Some symptoms of diabetes include:
Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Extreme hunger
Unusual weight loss
Increased fatigue
Irritability
Blurry vision

Additionally, as pointed out, urine can have a smell of acetone in those with untreated diabetes and extremely high glucose (blood sugar).
If you have one or more of these diabetes symptoms, or are concerned or worried that you might have diabetes, see your doctor right away. If your mother is diabetic, you are at greater risk for developing the condition. But, your best bet is to get your mom to take you to the doctor, who can examine you and perform the necessary tests (Glucose Tolerance Test, to show how your body metabolizes the sugars you eat; Hemoglobin A1c, to show what your blood sugar level has averaged over the past few months; Serum Glucose Test, to show what your blood sugar level is at the time the test is done). Your doctor can also prescribe the necessary treatment for you, as well. You and your brother should both go get examined, if only to give you peace of mind. Even if you have diabetes, you can still live a long and healthy life, as long as you keep your condition under control (as I like to say "control the diabetes, don't let it control you")Best of luck! Hope this helps!

Well, if your mother is diabetic the risk that you have or will develop diabetes of course is higher.

If diabetic the urine will have a sweetish odor which is distinctive, the breath is also referred to as smelling something like acetone (sort of concentrated, chemical smelling like nail polish remover)

When you are having symptoms such as increased urination, and you are at risk for developing diabetes, and your body is seemingly quite reactive to sugary products..I think it's time for a visit to your family doctor or to a local clinic, or call your health department or social services department if you havent health insurance or money...all in an effort to be tested by a profression to find out what is going on and to begin whatever treatments are necessary to keep it under control if you DO have diabetes, or to learn how to decrease your risk factors through better health behaviors if you do NOT have diabetes

either way, you need to be seen by a physician to determine whats really happening with your body

Best of Luck toward Improved Health and Understanding

The main symptoms of high blood sugar from diabetes are:

* Increased thirst.
* Increased urination.
* Weight loss.
* Fatigue.
* Increased appetite.

These symptoms usually develop over a few days to weeks. Some people have these symptoms before they are diagnosed, but they do not realize the symptoms are caused by diabetes. They may believe the symptoms are caused by the flu or some other illness. I would suggest seeing a doctor.
