My grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about last November. I did research, but it didn't help very much. So I was just wondering does anyone know the average life span for a pancreatic cancerous patient? Do you know of anyone that has survived? Or ANYTHING about it, if so, please tell me!

My Sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in November. It started off as a little lump in her left breast. She has gone through lots of Chemo and alternative drugs. She lost her left breast now and most of the pectoral muscle and roughly 23 lymph nodes as all were invaded. She is now being told that there are spots on her spine and in her other breast and some of those lymph nodes. There may be a spot or two as well on her liver. She does not want to know the prognosis as she doesn't want to think about it. She has a 4 yr old son and a 1 yr old daughter. I want to know the pronosis though. I want to be prepared so I can be strong for when my parents need me the most. Any information out there I would appreciate it. I have researched so much. By the way I am also doing the Making Strides 5 mile Breast Cancer walk in Philly in October, if anyone would like to make a small donation to that please let me know and I will send you the link. Take care and thank you.

What i mean - do they really think about what they are asking..
I am not talking about people who question lumps, biospies or like..
I am talking about those who Ask WHAT it is Like to have Cancer (like it is a fun day in the park) OR those who want to know what to do to Qualify to get cancer..

maybe i am being sensitive but i am finding there are some questions that make me think WHAT the??

Being the child of 2 parents who were diagnosed within a month of ea other is hard enough, and then to lose one parent in april this yr to the disease is another..
I ahve seen the impact it has had on both my parents (thro chemo and radio) and also them being told that there is NOTHING else they (the drs) can do..
I wonder do people really seriously think before placing fingers to keyboard and typing them..

is there atleast some truth in the statement that the meds that the pharma co's make are actually toxins that are really what kills people (over time) considering that to the body it is a foriegn substance? Take for example radiation. They tell you its bad for you and ok so it might be different kind of radiation BUT still to the body it is foriegn or else people's hair would not fall out bc of high doses or even low doses of radiation. They say its supposed to keep people around longer but it also changes the properties of the cells as well. Also what is your opinion of this page? This is one of the reasons why I am so skeptical of the big pharma. Sure medicine has come a long way and sure we dont have all of the answers but for heavan sakes practice with integrity!(VIOXX - where they knew 5 yrs before the drug went on the market that it would kill people) Im sure that is a minority of the industry Heres the website http://www.studentprintz.com/home/index.cfm?event=displayArticlePrint

My aunt had a mammogram a few weeks ago and it showed a mass so she had a biopsy and will find the results on Tuesday. I know there are no hard statistics, nor am I looking for any, but I am just wondering if anyone else has gone through this and what the outcome was.

3 weeks after my thyriod surgery my TSH level was at 31, the next week it dropped to 28 then 25 and now 18 (blood tests once per week). How is it possible for my TSH to be dropping when I have no thyroid?

I have thyroid cancer and cannot have the radioiodine scan until my TSH is at 40, but the levels are going the wrong way.
