My friends say it does, and they show it every day. If you are really low in the energy department that means you should talk to your doc about it though. There is some sort of pill to help out with that. I know, we all hate taking more pills when we already take a million of them, but if it gives you that energy and life back, even through the hardest of times, might be worth it. I remember though, there were some days when she had no energy, but now, she's always running and playin sports and such...so it'll come back, I hope you get better and things are great for you!

Yes but it will be slowly, chemo isn't selective so it effect all parts of the body. Longer the treatment more temp damage to cells in your body. Longer to recoup.
It is like breaking your leg. You might be able to walk after a few weeks but it takes longer to heal totally. Chemo is like that as many here have said you can do things but its slow and you get tired which is normal.

hi,
yes - energy does come back after chemo.. But not straight away - like after 30mins..
My mum had chemo for breast cancer- as did my dad (his was lung).. And they both found that after chemo treatment - they had to rest - even while they were having it they slept..
Mum would normally be ok to go shopping for 1-2hrs but then needed to go and sleeep til tea time (there treatment was normally early morning - around10ish)

When the treatment is completed - like all "courses" done - your energy level will return but slowly - you will feel great and what to do what you normally do - like a whole days gardening - digging etc - but find that the next day you will be tired..
Give it time - slowly do things - and eventually you will likely be back to "normal"

Yes it does, my son went through six months of high dose chemo, after radiation..........and he is a Sgt in the Marine Corps. It took alittle while, but he gained his strength back a little at a time. He followed the recommended diet, (when he was not eating junk), but it doing very well. His hair has come back and he has gained his weight back as well. It was a difficult journey, as anyone can imagine, but he did get better.........and his cancer is very, very rare.

Yes, but it takes a while and the person has to be diligent about taking proper precautions to maintain their health after treatment.

There have been people who have run marathons and done Ironman competitions after surviving cancer. So, I'd imagine the answer is yes.

Well, having been through it, it does eventually. It seems it is quite slow to return. I think that walking and other physical exercise would help and eating healthy foods would also help.
