My mom had a PET scan done and since they saw a shadow, they took out one of her lobes of her right lung. They confirmed it was malignant. As we speak she is in the hospital in ICU trying to regain some strength to be discharged. Has anyone known anyone or themselves who has survived? They havent staged her cancer yet, so the doctors dont have a prognosis for us at this time, I am looking for anyone who has been through this or known someone thanks!

My best friend just died of Brain cancer. He used medical marijuana for the pain and nausea. I witnessed it work wonders for him. I am unsure why so many are against it. I seen it help him die in much less pain than if he did not have it. I am curious why anyone would be against something that helps terminally ill people die in less pain? Why would it concern anyone enough to keep it away from those that need it and will die a more horrible death without it?

My grandma is fighting breast cancer and has just recently lost her hair due to chemo. I'm browsing the web for wigs for her to choose, but I have a couple of questions:
What are the different methods of getting your wig to stay on?
I live in an area of extreme heat, plus my grandma has a sensitive scalp / skin in general, she also loves to cook and be around the stove, etc. so what would be the best type of wig?
Any other information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it worth the extra months or years to be treated with these things that make a person so sick? Is it worse than cancer?
Tell me your opinion.

Why is there a huge campaign to stop smoking, but not one against tanning? It's surprising how there are no commercials advising that tanning causes cancer. You can tan without having to see a picture of melanoma on the tanning bed. You can go to a tanning bed at any age. People go outside without sunscreen all the time. Think about it......you can't buy cigarettes until you are 18. You cannot smoke underage. People go to great lengths to avoid second hand smoke. I know many women who don't smoke and claim to be healthy.....yet they are so tanned they look like shoe leather. Why is smoking so reviled, yet tanning is still considered beautiful? The risk of cancer is present with both habits, and melanoma is just as terrible as lung cancer. They are thinking of giving an R rating to movies that portray smoking as glamorous.....are they also going to give R ratings to movies that portray tanned women as beautiful?

What have your experiences with radiation tattoos been like? I have them on my neck and chest, and some people are rude enough to ask if it's dirt or a zit. It kind of angers me. Have you had them removed or covered up with a real tattoo? Have you had anybody be rude about them? Where are they (the tats, not the rude people)?

Recently i noticed a large lump on one of my testis. It doesnt hurt at all. I'm scared to believe it may be cancer. Now i suffered a torsion about 4 months ago but it was the other testi. I had minor surgery and everything went fine. I was able to keep both testis, none had to be removed from the surgery. Now i noticed the lump. The lump is pretty big but i dont know if its a result from the surgery or cancer and the lump is not hard, it seems to be pretty soft. Also with the surgery they performed 3 different ultrasounds so i'm thinking, wouldnt anyone have noticed it if it was indeed cancer? Also it does not seem to sort of "in" my testicle. When i touch it, it seems i can like slide it around on my testicle but once i stop it goes right back to its normal position. Does anyone have info that could help me out? And how big are the lumps that are associated with cancer? Thank you for the help and please contact me or respond to this question if you have any answers.

....but some people can smoke 2 packs a day & live to be 95 while another person could get cancer at 40. That makes me question the direct cause & effect. If you & I and 100,000 people all drink a gallon of bleach, we will all die. 100% of us. If smoking causes cancer, why does it do so in such an inconsistent fashion?
