I don't know what's in my own laptop's battery, but mom's laptop says hers has cadmium in it..a cancer causing metal right? So if I sit my laptop on my stomach to watch movies couldn't I maybe develop cancer in my stomach or ovaries from that? The battery would be *right there*.. I don't know..I just thought about it and it kinda creeped me out

Hi! My mother is considering her options but the doctors have not told her a price! We have no insurance, we have the means to pay cash. We are just curious as too how much it really is. Thank you!

My husband had a biopsy of a mold done about a month and a half ago. He had his follow-up today and she told him it was precancerous. She then removed a larger/deeper portion of the skin. I know that this means that it had a higher chance of becoming cancer, and I was just like "oh thank god she caught it". But then my mom (i don't know why i tell her anything) was like, "oh my god, does he have to have chemo, that's so serious!" and she's a nurse! she totally freaked me out.
has anyone had a precancerous mole before? what happens after the diagnosis, anything? should we go for a second opinion...I don't want to find out in 2 months that we should have done more and that he's dying....
any input would be great! :)

We have to wait 3 weeks before I can see a doctor to do a biopsy. Early tests don't look good. How can my wife & I tell our teenage son because he has to know but on the other hand, he is our youngest and I am closest to him. All the other problems I've had in my life seem stupid compared to this. Should we wait until the biopsy or prepare him for what might happen?

Today I noticed that there is a painful lump about the size of a marble (maybe a little smaller) on the right side of my neck. It is right where my jawbone ends. About 4 inches or so below my ear. You can not see the lump ... But, I can feel it. It is really painful. Sorta like a bad bruise. I can feel it some when I turn my head. IF I push on it it hurts real bad. I am terrified. I am a naturally easily scared person. I have heard that if you are sick than something like this could happen , but I haven't been sick. I just noticed it today. Should I see a doctor , or wait and see if it goes away? Has anyone experienced this before?

Not a big deal, I'm not worried but they'd told her to be careful about too much contact with people. Just wondering what the risk of it actually harming anyone else is? Is it just a precaution?

My father has worked for a trucking company for a few years now and has always carried helth insurence through the company. Last week they descovered that he has life threating cancer and time could be rather short. if he is made unable to work because of this cancer will the company still have to continue to offer or pay health insurence? we are not a rich family and these treatments can become very expensive.

I recently had a liver ultrasound done and it said there was no lesion or focal lesion present.. I remember my friend from med school telling me that a lesion present means it's a tumor...is that what the word "lesion" stands for?

Hi, i am a 17 year old male worried about breast cancer.

i was doing some research and found out that a sympton of breast cancer is a hard lump under the nipple that eventually spreads.

around a year ago i felt a hard round lump under my nipple, told my mum and thought nothing on it. now, there isnt so much of a lump but a hard substance in general that has spread out on both breasts. am i worrying too much or do i need to see a doctor?

i am overweight so i do have fleshy man breasts could it just have something to do with my weight?

this is a serious and quite embarassing subject, so please, no silly answers.

i have not had any other symptons i read up on a particular website.

thank you

We just found out that my sister, who is 5 years old, has a large tumor that is attached to her back. She will be seeing a doctor tomorrow morning to go into more detail about it. I was just wondering what you people know about this and what treatments you know about.

This isn't her first. She was born with brain cancer and went through strong Chemo which shrunk the tumor and she has been cancer free for almost 5 years, (it would be 5 years this Feburary.) Please say a prayer for my sister, her name is HOPE.

My cousins grandpa has pancreatic cancer that has spread to his brain and all through his body. The hospital gave him less than a month to live. The morphine isn't really helping the pain and he is deteriorating day by day. He had surgery last week and was fine! But this is such a surprise. They are supposed to come over Christmas Eve, we exchange gifts and everything. Do you think they will come. And even worse.. What are his chances? Good advice please. This is not a joke.. it is completely and totally serious. Thanks.
