Chris, I am so very sorry to hear this news! The hair issue is an easy one as there are many cute little hats and bandanas she can wear. Anything, to make her feel pretty and special!
Please make her aware that many lose their hair but, it is a short term thing. The hair grows back and will be even more healthy!!
Another way, if you believe in prayer, pray! Pour out your heart and ask for God's mercy upon this child! I will pray as well as she is in need of God's healing touch! I ask God to not let her dwell on the negative but rather, open her precious eyes to all HIS beauty which surrounds us all! May He walk with her, guide all who attend her and give her His peace of mind and heart! I will include the family in my prayers as well!

Sometimes its harder for the family to see a child have to go through chemo than it is for the child. Because children have had so few life experiences compared to adults, they can take it in stride a little easier as just another thing that happens. My cousin's daughter, now 27 and a new mommy had kidney cancer at a young age. Chemo is difficult for everyone (I've been there and done that) but with good medical monitoring side effects can be minimized and hair grows back : - )

My cousin had wilms tumor kidney cancer. I assume your neice mostlikley has this and she is getting weekly treatments, If her falling out is that traumatic for her you may want to shave it and buy her lots of cute hats. She will get through it even though it seems like it is a long rode. It will get easier when you move to every 3 week treatments if that is part of your protocal. Just be there for her it will get easier over time. Just ask if you have any other question

Hi :)
When my nephew had chemo, (he was 7 at the time) we bought him a whole heap of different hats and bandanna's so he could choose every day what he wanted to be- e.g he liked the pirate hat best ,and then, the cowboy hat was a favorite too.
The other thing we did was shave off the rest of his hair , this was with his permission and it made the hair loss a lot less noticeable.
We painted (in water paints) his scalp like an easter egg during easter and favorite football colors when it was football season. My uncle also empathized with him by shaving his own hair off and saying that they were now "twins".
My nephew had a great sense of humor and he loved the positive attention this gave him..
It was a case of turning something negative into something positive.

oh man, i'm so sorry to hear this. i hope she gets better! stay strong, and make sure you encourage her to do the same. try doing things with her to take her mind off of what is going on, and to help cheer her up. make sure she knows that hair/looks aren't everything. happy holidays, and i'll keep you both in mind<3
