We have to wait 3 weeks before I can see a doctor to do a biopsy. Early tests don't look good. How can my wife & I tell our teenage son because he has to know but on the other hand, he is our youngest and I am closest to him. All the other problems I've had in my life seem stupid compared to this. Should we wait until the biopsy or prepare him for what might happen?

DO NOT PANIC! It sounds like you don't even have a firm diagnosis yet. Once you have more info, you have to tell him. I'm a firm believer in full disclosure. Doesn't he already think something is up? How to tell him is totally up to you and your wife, but don't be surprised if he initially acts really angry. Good luck!

You need to tell him that it's a possibility. If the dr's schedule is too busy to do a biopsy sooner, get another dr. Make sure that the dr. who eventually handles your case is an EXPERIENCED cancer surgeon and expert in chemo at an accredited cancer center.

Unless you've got a serious chance of recovery through chemo, don't bother. The chemo may make you so weak, you die earlier than you had to. That was my mom's story. The chemo killed her.

Wait dont tell him yet. I lost my Dad a year ago to lung cancer. He will know soon enough and you will have more info to give him. My Dad was 77 and he was hunting and fishing and 1 month later they told him he had cancer and nothing to do for it. He was gone within 3 months but he never stopped smiling and we had very long talks, watched a lot of ballgames and hunting tapes in those last 3 months Love and miss him more every day. Good luck I hope things turn out good for you.

"cancer cannot grow in an alkaline environment"
Excuse me???!!!

You can't choose if your environment is alkaline or acid, since your kidneys will keep your internal pH in 7,34. It doesn't matter what you eat (unless you have renal failure).
