I am 57 yrs old. I had a MRI done in May and it showed a mass on my Psoas Muscle. I had another one done this month the mass is still there but smaller. I had a biopsy done last Friday and it showed the cells on the outer edge to be abnormal.
Now they want to remove it surgically. I have mixed feelings. I don't have the time, I don't have the money and not sure I have the desire to deal with it. The surgery and the followup treatments.
They are not sure what kind of cells they are but most likely sarcoma.
I really have mixed feelings right now.

I'm 18 and I occasionally get these pains in my left side. It usually only happens when it's cold out. What are the odds that I have cancer? Also, I have horseshoe kidneys.

I had A MRI done with Contrast dye to see if I had lymphoma. The nurse at the ENT yesterday told me it wasn't lymphoma but my primary care provider's nurse today told me that he said it is no guarantee until a biopsy can be done on my tonsils. Just wondering if it is always shown if cancer is present?

She had no chance of life for this cancer because since it is such a rare cancer nobody had a cure for yet, and i want to change that for all the kids and adults who have that cancer. So any ideas how ican start, other than at school or my neighborhood really? are the cancers found there always fatal and would this 3 months be super important to survivng or not..

I just told my son and brother one was found via catscan for a major wreck..so much is happening to me my head is spinning..one thing after another since my died 4 months ago..and just in last two weeks..I am not sure I can emotionally go through finding this out..I have insitu ductal carcionoma on the same side against chest wall..maybe 14 years ago that recurred about 6 years later still insitu..(3 lumpectomies and radiation one time)..I heard the radiation can cause cancers also..dad died of lung cancer in mid 50's (my age)..I remember his suffering and not sure I can go through this,...dad smoked in my childhood before they knew about 2nd hand smoke..I remember coughing all the time but only yesterday realized this was probably why I coughed..I also smoked 3 packs a day before they told you it was dangerous and am currently highly allergic to cigarette smoke..I quit in 1976

I found that over a period of 5 years, 80% of patients with brain cancer survived it. now, does that mean that only 16% of patients in a period of 1 year survive brain cancer? I'm confused.

Dad could not get his 9th chemo treatment this week..cuz of low platelets in his blood.. the number is 71,000.00...(something like that).. we are hoping next week..he will be able to. Has anyone had this situation?.. What is the right number, that makes an oncologist feel comfortable..giving a patient chemo?.. Dad has stage 3 colon cancer..and is on Folfox program.. suppose to do 12 treatments in all..

Any feedback...would be appreciated.. Thanks, Christine

My mom is terminal with kidney cancer and was recently told that she is no longer treatable. We were told 2 weeks to 2 months as her time line. That was a month or so ago. I was talking on the phone with her last night and she started saying she was tired and she just had a feeling that it was coming soon. So I am wondering if you believe that the dying patient knows when they are going to die??

Just curious....when someone is receiving radiation therapy for several weeks...are there any significant side effects that are passed on to the people they are closest too on a daily basis? If you bathed a child or rocked a baby or small child to sleep....are there any ill effects passed from the cancer patient receiving the therapy to the small child?
