oh those darn neulasta shots!!!! I've had both that and neupagen and they both caused the WORST PAIN for me.....Mine hit me in the "breast bone" area......so I hurt from my chest up to my shoulders, both on the front and back....I couldn't stand to even have clothes touch my skin!!! Lots of people get the pain in the hip joint area....something about there being a lot of marrow there and that's what the drugs are intended to "boost" the production of. I took tylenol and benedryl, but it didn't really help much......when I went in the hospital after my stem cell transplant, they had morphine on order for me, if I needed it. Be sure to tell your doctor the next time you see him/her and see if there is something that they can give you to ease the pain......
Good luck on your chemo treatments!!!!!

My mother had Leukemia when I was a kid and my cousin found out a few years ago that she had cancer. They both had to have chemo treatments and they suffered really bad. Sorry to be the one to have to tell you this. There is no easy way but I have seen alot of commercial's for a pill that is supposed to relieve the symptoms of chemo. You might ask your doctor and see if you can get it. Sorry I don't know the name of the pill but if I see the commercial again I will try and post it for you...Good luck honey, I know you are going through a living nightmare and I will be praying for you.

Have you been treated with G-CSF (also known as (Peg)filgrastim or Neupogen(R))?
If yes, this may be the reason.
I wish you all the best.

Hmm... so it's about 6 days since the shot? Not absolutely sure, it could be related. I would expect the onset of pain earlier after the shot, but I don't have any experience with Neulasta with chemo. Maybe the chemo delays the effect of Neulasta?
Normally, the pain can be managed with standart analgetics. Talk to your physician.

I don't know if it is normal, but it is common. Usually it happens more like 2-4 days after the shot. I found that neupogen was easier on me than neulasta. You have to have more shots but on balance it was less painful.
Good luck to you, chemo is no picnic - but it does end.

No, this is not normal. Call your doctor immediately. You do not say what type of cancer you have, but you should never dismiss pain to the point of tears, especially if you have cancer. You need to be examined immediately. Do not wait.
The pain you experience may be totally unrelated to your chemo treatment . . check this out now. Never hesitate to call your doctor.

Some chemo drugs do that. Talk to your doctor about it to see if you can take something for the pain.

Bone pain is not an uncommon side effect. Talk to your doctor about all pain and discomfort that you are feeling. Hopefully there is something that can be done to help you through this very difficult treatment. I wish you and your family all the best.

get off chemo as fast as you possibly can, it is destroying an equal amount of healthy tissue and loss of hair plus other side effects, that make you feel even sicker and arnt worth the limited benefit you may, repeat MAY be recieving, and dont let the doctors scare you into accepting their point of view, they have a limited agenda that generally is in their best interest, NOT YOURS.

I am sorry to hear that. You need better pain medication. You should be able to get that from your doctor.
