Of anything that counteracts the effects of radiation? Supplements, skin cremes, etc...other than what the doctor routinely gives you? (This is for my friend. He has 3 more treatments to go and he is beginning to fry.)

I hear it is a new cancer and not detectable by mammogram and that we need to be really concerned as it is deadly. Anyone have more information? Like how this has developed. How is it treated is it treated the same as other breast cancers? Is a mutation of what causes breast cancer. Does this cancer affect any other organs simularly??

The docs are scratching their heads over me. Meantime, I'm miserable. All labs come out ok, though platelets alone were hi. BP is fine, sometimes a bit low. Heart checked out ok. Note I had one lung removed at 30 yrs old, never had complications thereafter. The Neurologist says it is not neurological... he says, quote "your muscles and nerves are starving for nutrition". He believes it's a small cancer. The oncologist says there is no cancer. Diet is balanced but I have zero appetite and no sense of taste. I make sure I force myself to eat, it is balanced and includes Ensure. But I can't get too much into me so it's just consistent with the little energy I need; I want to be hungrier; I want to have more energy; I want to gain weight; I want to be active. This has gradually worsened over about 3-4 years, very slowly.

On one side of my head there seems to be a bump that is long and slender but very noticible and it's bone I can tell. I haven't had any head injuries ever. But on the other side is the same thing but smaller. The side where the bump is larger it seems like my hair is thinner there... I'm really freaked out... And scared. Does anyone have any clue what it could be??? I'm gonna see a doctor but I'm trying to lessen my anxiety...

A family friend's grandson has a neuralblastoma. The kid is 4 years old. The kid has already lost vision in one eye and use of the same side. He's had two operations already. The entire tumor needs to be removed because it's growing too quickly. The doctors that operated on him don't want to remove the whole tumor becuase they believe that removing it all will do more harm than good. They've already deemed a certain part of it imoperable. Is there any neurosurgeon who I can contact who might be willing to operate on this kid? Doctors have already told the mom to take him to Disneyland and everywhere he wants to go because his time is numbered.

On June 3rd I noticed a small bump under my skin on the left side of my neck, immediately I worried but because nothing seemed to be wrong with me. In the last week I've developed asthma like symptoms or just some awareness of not being easily able to take in a deep breath all the time. I'm not sick, haven;t been having fevers or anything but when i go to the doctor tomorrow, I don't want to takea blood test and get back results with horribel news.

Just today I was able to workout as usual, run 5 miles and lift weights. I'm a healthy 17yr old guy and am just worried.
