At age 47 diagnosed with Stage 3-B colon cancer in Feb. 2002. 18 months of Chemo.

Recurrence Feb. 2005. 6 months of Chemo.

Feeling great and scans and blood work show no signs of cancer.

Am looking forward to a fly fishing trip to South Dakota this month!

I also have a friend who is getting ready to celebrate her 8 year anniversary since being diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma!

We not only survive, we thrive!

I'm not. My dad had advanced lung cancer, ironic considering he was a non-smoker. He died not too long ago...
My advise is that all hope is not lost, to keep the faith & be strong. As life changing as it may be, take it as a challenge that God gives to test your faith in Him, have courage & strength to help you get through.
With proper medical care i.e. chemotherapy, the pain & growth of the cancer cells can be managed. Take this time to do the things you've not been able to like travel. Take your family along & enjoy each other's company.
Live each day at a time & just get on with your life don't let it hold you back. Be active (if possible), do things that you're passionate about. Speak to other cancer survivors to gain a better perspective.
Hopefully a cure will be discovered for this fatal disease soon...
God Bless.

Was diagnosed in December with Stage 4 metastatic melanoma and given 6 months to a year. I've hit the 6 month mark and had a clean scan a couple of weeks ago. Walking on egg shells until the next scan. For me I'm advanced and surviving...the docs call it living with cancer. Good Luck!!!
