My mother had both thyroid glands and a large mass removed all which was full of cancer. This was November 15, 2005. She underwent radiation treatments and is now cancer free. She is on thyroid medication. Still she has been having major memory problems. She lives about 35 minutes from my house. Last week she was on her way to my house and forgot where she was going. She goes to a senior citizen center once a week. Last week my aunt had to remind her how to get there 3 times. My mother is 59yrs old. This is becomming severly depressing for her. My question is could this still be affects from the cancer and treatments or does it sound like something else is going on with her? Does anyone have any information?

A very good friend of mine was diagnoised with colon cancer, it went into remiss, then showed up as lung cancer, this past May, it moved to the vagina and tho she told doctors she needed to see them; they put her off and now it has a good foot hold. She was supposed to get help from a large local hospital, but because it moved to a new place they will not see her now. Anyone know of any help for her? She has a wonderfull husband and sons. I am burning a trail to God with prayers for her as well as her family. I am not sure if her husband will survive long without her; and her sons as well. They are such a loving family and my heart aches for all of them. Please if anyone has any information that may help her please let us know. People who are this loving shouldn't have to be pulled apart like this.

My son is almost 10 months old. He has an enlarged lymph node under his left armpit. It's probably the size of a marble. It's hard, not red and not tender. He has had no types of infection in his arms or otherwise. He is otherwise healthy as far as I can tell. I noticed them at his 6 month checkup. They said it was nothing and that it would go away. But it has gotten a little bigger. He has an appointment this week. But all I am finding is that it's related to lymphoma. Does anyone have any similar experience or input?

My father has smoked for many many MANY years (he smokes a couple packs a day. He drinks EVERYDAY! He is 66 years old. He will not quit drinking or smoking. He won't go to the doctors either. His face has been swelling up alot lately. It has been swelling up for a couple years now but a lot more often now. It's not his whole face that swells up at a time just parts of it at a time. He's been says that he feels dizzy every once in a while, he feels tired (he sleeps alot). I've been trying to find good wbsites to figure out what this might be but am not finding any results. I'm trying to get him to go to the doctors but I have a feeling that i'm not going to be able to get him to go :(

it appears to affect all ages and both sexes as well as animals. i suspect it is the chemicals used in farming , particularly the defolients used on cotton. it may be possible there is a synergistic effect from combinations of the various chemicals similar to combining various medications or drugs. i wonder if this has ever been studied.
