My son is almost 10 months old. He has an enlarged lymph node under his left armpit. It's probably the size of a marble. It's hard, not red and not tender. He has had no types of infection in his arms or otherwise. He is otherwise healthy as far as I can tell. I noticed them at his 6 month checkup. They said it was nothing and that it would go away. But it has gotten a little bigger. He has an appointment this week. But all I am finding is that it's related to lymphoma. Does anyone have any similar experience or input?

Regardless if it is painless or not, bring it to your son's physician at the appointment this week. Do not delay! If the physician blows it off, vehemently voice your concern and make sure it's checked out.

With your son's age in mind, chances are it's nothing. But you want a definite answer -- don't go on not knowing the exact cause of a swollen node.

I have permanantly swollen lymph nodes in my neck, from an old infection, i guess some kind of scar tissue built up in them and never went away. I would trust the doctors call, but be cautious, he has an appoointment in a week, so save the worry till then. But it doesnt necessarily have to be cancer.

If it's painless, I suggest you see a docter, as it could be cancer.
