I had a grade 3 astrocytoma brain tumor and underwent a seven hour craniotomy with motor mapping at UCSF. I had external beam radiation and six rounds of BCNU chemotherapy treatments, via an IV. Rounds1-3 were not that bad. Rounds 4-6 were horrible. I puked, dry heaved nothing but spit and air, slept a lot, ate nothing that i could keep in my stomach for more than an hour or so. Even when i drank water after an infusion, I would puke it up. My teeth looked like hell and i got sores on the edges and insides of my mouth.

But I survived it and am six years cancer free.

Serious answers only please. Does anyone know the progression of terminal liver cancer?

My 84 year old mother started having nausea 6 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago they found 6 cancerous tumors in her liver. She is suffering so much. She is growing weaker every day, cannot keep food down and doesn't have an appetite.

I am taking care of her at my home. Hospice is helping and trying to keep her pain down.
It is heart breaking to watch her suffering and declining each day and I just want her to be released from this suffering.

Does anyone know or have experience as to approximately how long she will have to suffer before she can pass on?

Please no answers as to "when God is ready" as that does not help to give me any idea how long she is going to have to suffer more.
Thank you for any help.

My aunt has Stage 4 Uterine Leiomyosarcoma. She will start Chemo in a few days. This is her 4th reoccurance. She has already had radiation treatment therefore Chemo is her only option. Our concern is that she's had MANY prior surgeries (removed appendix, most of her small and large intestine, total hysteroectomy) and now has a colostmy. She has trouble gaining weight because her intestine is so small and with the colostomy she doesn't keep her food very long.

Nausea is our main concern with the Chemo, as she tends to dehydrate very easily.
Mouth sores too.

Luckily we don't know anyone who's undergone Chemo to compare notes with, so your comments on your experiences would be appreciated!

Thank you and good luck to all of you!

Many Blessings!

I was just diagnosed with Lupus, I have a history of Ovarian cancer and have had a full hysterectomy in 04. About six months after my hysterectomy I was diagnosed with LUpus. The problem is I don't know what it is. I get stiff and puffy and my joints are hard to move, but my doctor doesn't go into great detail of what this disease does. All they have done is put me on predsnisone, and draw my blood every once in a while. I have had recent symptoms that are new life blurry vision, headache anf REAL stiff joints.......help me, I don't know where to go

All the educated people of our world and no one can find a cure? I heard there is a cure but if it is put out too many people will lose their jobs in the medical field.
