My sister was diagnosed with a chronic head tumor. It is now become apparent to everyone that we need to prepare for the worse. We were told by her doctors that the best place for her is a hospice center. At the moment I'm about 3,000 miles from her and there's nothing I can do to help.
Can you give me any information on hospice services? Are they good people? Will they take care of her? Any information would be appreciated

Has anyone else ever heard of a Dr telling a cancer survivor this? he told her she might trigger the cancer cells to start up again. Does this sound like something a Dr should be telling a patient, especially one whose diet is poor and is underweight but wasn't at the time he told her this.

For one of my classes, I have to write a 3 page essay answering the question, Is cancer good or bad? I can think of a million reasons why it would be bad, but why would my professor ever think that it could be a good thing?

hey guys I asked a question a little while back, but I'm really worried and need some opinions. Last week I started feeling dizzy a bit, my ear started to ache on and off, and I felt really sick to my stomach. It went away for a couple of days but then it came back and now the pain in my ear is just getting worse, i don't feel quite as dizzy as before and don't ever get any headaches, but when I press on the right side of my head it's fairly painful. I'm a bit of a worrier so I'm convinced it's a brain tumor. It's not an ear infection. I was on antibiotics and it only got worse. I'm going to see the doc again but I can't for a week because he's away. Any feedback would be great. thanks

We know that smoking can cause lung cancer and the sun can cause skin cancer. What about other things that cause cancer? I've heard that underarm deodorant can cause breast cancer. I've heard that preservatives in food can cause different cancers. There are rumors about drinking acidic beverages such as soda or orange juice can lead to esophageal cancer. Now they are talking about processed meats leading to stomach cancer. What others have you heard or what are some things that you feel aren't being talked about enough? Cancer scares the crap out of me. I hope we can find a cure or least on our own find some way of avoiding it. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I would like to send my words of encouragement or assistance to a neighbor who is going through chemo. Without placing pity on them. Any comfort, object, words that could help. Anyone working with cancer patients that hears their needs.
