Do you think there is a natural cure for cancer somewhere out there that doctors aren't telling you about??

I read in the news about a 16 year old boy who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, a form of cancer, who does not want to go through a second round of chemotherapy and the state is trying to force him. The first round of chemo left him very weak and sick, and despite initial success, his cancer came back a few months after. His doctor ordered a second round of chemo, but the teenager decided against it and with his parent's support, chose an alternative, herbal treatment. The doctor disagreed with their medical choice and reported them to social services. Now the state is taking them to court, alleging medical neglect, and is trying to take custody from the parents.

Do you think that the state of Virginia has the right to force the 16 year old to take chemotherapy and remove custody from his parents? Isn't the state going too far? Remember, chemotherapy is a treatment, not a cure, and there is no guarantee that it will work.

I never had any problems with thyroid until I felt a lump on my throat when I had a bad sore throat in February of 2004 and had thyroidectomy back in August 2004. Last summer I sweat so bad that I told the doctor about it because I have never sweated only when I play sports, He said that it was just a hot summer and I should deal with it. Now this summer has been hell (due to heatwave) and I even told my doctor and he said thats nothing and I hate to have A/C on and fan on all the time to keep me from sweating ... I need some feedback ...

Thank you in advance.

I am 29 years old. I had breast reduction surgery 9 years ago. Last week I found a lump in one of my breast, went to the doctor and she ordered a mammogram and ultrasound. My doctor said it may be a cyst. I had both done today. Well the radiologist said it doesn't look like cancer but she doesn't know what it is. She says that because of the size (5.25 cm) it should be removed. I meet with my surgeon tomorrow to discuss the plan to remove it. I wonder how she can say it's not cancer, if she doesn't know what it is? I don't want to get too happy and then be told something different. Am I paranoid? Should I still worry?

She's not into it at all. She's kind of antisocial, not clinically, but generally. But she's been battling serious depression and hasn't told anyone about her having cancer. I just found out yesterday and she was diagnosed in October.

Anyone had a friend/relative who wasn't into talking about it.

My boyfriend told me he would decline medical treatment if he had cancer because he doesn't believe in doctors. He told me that if it was God's will, God would save him... if not then obviously he is suppose to die. He thinks medical treatment for cancer is no guarantee, and I know that, but I believe it does increase your chance of survival ALONG with faith. How can my boyfriend say that he will just let God help him and eat right? What if God created chemotherapy and radiation for the purpose of treating cancer and possibly prolonging life?

I am a young mother of four and have been seeing an oncologist for about 18 months my wbc is at 1.4 and my rbc is at 4.18 and my platelets are at 92 what could this, or what does this more than likely, mean for me??? I had a bone marrow biopsy done on 8/8/06 and are waiting for the results. Is there a possibility that what is going on with me is something other than some sort of cancer???
