They're almost definitely kidney stones. You have a few options for how to pass them. You could do it the natural way and wait until it starts to pass naturally (you'll feel it, it hurts), and you pee it out and into a cup so they can biopsy it, you can get them to use an ultrasound to break them into smaller pieces before you pass them out of your body, or you can get surgery for it if neither of those methods is working. I really doubt they're tumors. But your doctor will be able to inform you better on your condition, I'm sure. Kidneys are an unusual place for tumors anyway, so don't worry about that. :)

Tumors come in all sizes and can grow from the smallest to basketball sized.
I don't at all mean to sound cruel -- but this is the worst place to be rousting about trying to get information about your condition. As others have strongly suggested -- this is something that is dramatically serious enough to warrant seeing your doctor immediately.
Plus, you can get some bad information off of here. And the Internet is not the place to try to diagnose a potentially serious situation such as this one.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

I had some small spots on the exterior of my right kidney that turned out to be renal cell carcinoma(cancer) so dont fool around with it, get in to see the doctor asap. Chances are that they are just stones, but dont be to sure until doctors are sure!

could be a tumor, however generally kidney stones are common....and don't pose a huge risk, just a TON of pain when they start to come out
