my aunt has breast cancer and was just informed that she also has peritomoral vascular invasion.she also is a diabetic.are there treatments for this?

well i think you mean peritoneal... in this case it means that the cancer is spreading out into the abdomen. anatomically speaking, the bowel is surrounded by a bag-like structure called peritoneum. and the doctor by saying that means that the cancer is spreading out into the abdomen from the breast. and this is normal in case of metastasis (cancer spreading). for metastasis to occur, it starts by invading other tissue by building its infrastructure (arteries) to have life support and this is what it means vascular invasion

Perhaps it read perineural and vascular invasion. That means the breast tumor has spread along vascular structures and nerves. Depending on where you are, modern medicine is pretty much geared up to deal with breast cancers. Many people live long and meaningful lives after such a diagnosis.
