Okay, I posted earlier about a swollen lymph node an inch above collar and I am freaking out that it is the supraclavicular region. I also had a bad cold, lots of sinus pressure, bad headache and swollen gland under jaw on one side. I took sudafed this morning, both areas of swelling went down, the one above collar bone and under jaw. If it was cancer, would a decongestant decrease the swelling? Could this just be a sinus infection and the lump is from that? Would it be that low? I am seeing a doctor and he took blood test, but I have to wait and are really freaking out....

that Allen Carr, the founder of the "Easyway" to quit smoking, died of lung cancer yesterday.
A portion of the blame for his contracting lung vancer was given as he spent the last twenty odd years treating smokers in clinics where everyone is encouraged to smoke until the " ritual of the final cigarette"
Should his treatment clinics now be conducted in non-smoking atmospheres to save the "Easyway" counsellors?

I am working on a project about African Americans who have skin cancer, and I am looking for testimonials about people who have endured this disease. I realize that many people are unaware of this topic, but it is a growing issue that I am researching. I will appreciate any help I can receive on this topic.

I Just had a mammogram/sonogram of my breast done. Results are as follow The left breast at 9:00 position, 3cm from the nipple, demonstrated a 5X7X5 mm probable cyst with scant debris. BI RADS: Catergory 3. Last year I had Catergory 2. If someone could please explaine to me what exactly does the scant debris means in a cyst? Could this mean breast cancer? I have a family history of breast cancer( my sister). Thanks

I'm researching for a play for one of my classes and I'm not sure if they wear the dressing gowns you are in for temp. hospital stays, or if they're supposed to be in some thing else.

If anyone can help me, that would be great.

Thanks so much.

Hi, recently I lost a family member to cancer. It has got me to thinking that maybe people should be checked once a year to see if they might have beginning stages so that you could have better odds of fighting the cancer. My question is, what kindof tests are available and is it possible or worth it to see a doctor once a year for this? Does anyone else see a doctor often just to make sure they are cancer-free? (I am not talking about breast cancer specifically, just any kind of cancer.)

I found a lump in the side of my neck, maybe an half inch size a bit above my collarbone. I also had a cold that I caught from my kids with swollen glands. This is when I noticed this enlarged lump. Two weeks ago, I was having vertigo dizziness problems for a couple of weeks but that went away. I also found cyst like spots on my cervix. But my pap smear came back fine. Going to check that out friday. I went to my regular doctor today for lump in neck. He felt it, said it was mobile. It was a tiny bit tender. He said we will watch it for a couple of weeks to see if it goes down. He also did blood work to check for lymphoma. Should he have given me antibiotics? He did not. I will be checking out the cervix issue Friday. I am really scared. Mother of two kids, I am 36....I am just wondering if he should have done more or given me antibiotics??? Help!

During my treatment I've noticed many different reactions especially that of shame and sorrow for myself and family. I've been reading an article about why cancer is seen as a taboo and a lot of it seems to be based on mis-conceptions about science etc. Why do you think cancer is/was seen as taboo in some countries? I think it is to do with mis-education and perhaps rooted in history still linked to the work of the devil.
