I Just had a mammogram/sonogram of my breast done. Results are as follow The left breast at 9:00 position, 3cm from the nipple, demonstrated a 5X7X5 mm probable cyst with scant debris. BI RADS: Catergory 3. Last year I had Catergory 2. If someone could please explaine to me what exactly does the scant debris means in a cyst? Could this mean breast cancer? I have a family history of breast cancer( my sister). Thanks

They said benign? That means non-cancerous. I've had two lumps removed from my right breast. Both were benign. I'm not sure about the debris. My mammogram tech has never been so detailed. Have you had a sonogram yet? If you feel it-have it removed. It's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

Did they not biopsy it last time? I'd be to another Dr. or clinic ASAP. The breast are nothing to mess with. How do they know without a biopsy what it is and if it's benign? A cyst that is probable benign isn't good enough. Take a fit, get excited and demand that someone talk to you about it and then ask to be referred to another Dr. for a 2nd opinion. I have had a biopsy that was negative and it is stressful but, I also know people that were told to wait and see that didn't have benign results. So, go someplace else. I don't want to scare you but, you have the right to know why they aren't biopsying it! Get on the phone tom. and demand to speak to someone about it and have your questions written down. What does it mean? Whay aren't you doing a biopsy? See? Just look out for yourself. you have to these days. Take it from me. I wish you'd let me know what happens. missmarymrpete@yahoo.com good luck.
