My dad had been ill for 4 days with a sickness and diarrhoea bug. He last ate on friday afternoon. He has tried to eat after that but it is coming straight back up. Is it normal for this to last this long? Im getting worried as he had lost 3/4 of a stone in weight.

The pain is constant and it worsened like two months ago. I have Kidney Stones last year and I use to have noticible bright orange sand in my urine all the time for years, specially when I drink beer, now I cant see any sand in my urine

My kidneys are very low functioning, and i have been strongly advised by my ob gyn and my nephrologist not to get pregnant because i will have a really hard pregnancy and end up with kidney failure. However, it is my decision, and they have both told me that they would work to help me do whatever I want. Do you think my husband and I can handle a baby while I am on dialysis? I've not done either before, is there any one out there who has?

is it possible for alcoholics to be hypochondriacs? and/or compulsive liars?

i have known someone for a long time and she periodically comes up with serious illnesses that never materialize! also over time she will lie about something and a while later forget she said it or repeat the same lie with different details

i don't live in the same city or country as her so it's easy for her to get away with what she tells me. i have also known her for a long time, so i know when what she is saying is a lie.

anyone have any information or personal experiences that could help me make sense of this?

I got a splinter in my foot. It's small enough that I can't yank it out with tweezers, and I considered cutting the absolute topmost part of skin to give me room to pull it out. Then I discovered that it hurts a lot just touching it too hard with tweezers; cutting anything around it will surely be excruciating.

So, does anybody have some good ways to remove splinters?

A week ago my mom passed away very suddenly. We did not do an autopsy as we know she died of natural causes. But the family is wondering wether it was a heart attack or something else such as a massive stroke, heat stroke, or an anyurism.
The facts:
She had been out in the garden weeding for most of the day. The weather was 95 degrees and humidity was high. She came in around 6 pm and said she was tired and had a heartburn so she took some antacids and went to lay down. at 6:30 she got up and said she felt better. At 7 pm the lights went out due to a thunderstorm. While the lights were out she lost her bowels. She agreed to go to the ER, but wanted to shower first due to being soiled from losing her bowels. They came on at 7:30. She then took and shower and dressed herself. The neighbor came to take her to the ER. She got in the car and buckled her seat belt. Immediately she passed out. She was breating with a pulse for about 5 min. before dying.
What caused her death?

I overheated due to dehydration while I was working this weekend and have had very little appetite since then. I have re-hydrated myself to the point where I'm urinating at least every 30-45 minutes, and I'm hungry, but I have very little appetite. When I do eat, it's not very much. Is this normal or is it something to be concerned about?

My father in law who is 67 has gone from being a normal person to being totally paranoid, delusional, can hardly do daily functions (brush teeth, shower, etc) in a couple days time. He hears voices, does not sleep. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. DR's did brain scan, and all other tests for brain problems, all came back fine. Did tests for encephalytis, alot of bloodwork, etc. All OK. They say vascular dementia... But how could something this severe happen overnight. He can not be left alone, cannot drive, comes up with absolutly crazy things he thinks are happening... Could some other condition be causing this..

I just came back from a camping trip. On the last day, my neighbor offered me a hamburger. I ate it... ever since I ate it I have had abdominal cramping, diarrhea and major nausea. I have a mixed sensation of hunger with nausea and I'm afraid to eat, however I need to. I realized soon afterward that she had arrived at the campsite 5 days before hand, and had it in a cooler of melted ice. I feel awful. I do not have medical insurance and cannot afford to go to a doctor. The closest medical facility in walking distance( I walk) is the Union Hospital.. which would cost me emergency room charges as well.. HELP! I want to order lunch so that I don't have an empty stomach, any suggestions?
