I got a splinter in my foot. It's small enough that I can't yank it out with tweezers, and I considered cutting the absolute topmost part of skin to give me room to pull it out. Then I discovered that it hurts a lot just touching it too hard with tweezers; cutting anything around it will surely be excruciating.

So, does anybody have some good ways to remove splinters?

Take a bath or shower. The wood will swell as it absorbs water, possibly beyond the skin, letting you get a grip on it. No time? A drop of iodine does the same thing, quickly, but it'll sting a little.

If you can't get it, don't worry about it. Organic splinters (wood, cactus spines) will be slowly broken down by your body, which even moves them away from pressure points. (Bodies are way cool, yes?)

I found that for small splinters, get some "elmers" wood glue. spread a thin layer over the area where the splinter is, and once it dries ( just takes a minute) you can lift the edge and then pull the glue off, most times the splinter comes out with it. Painfree and entertaining for little kids too.

Soak your foot in warm/hot water for a while, then get a safety pin or needle and rip the skin off the top where your splinter is and pull it out. This always works for me!

You should try using a needle, that's what i do all the time if it;s too small. sometimes you might have to really dig in your skin to pull it out

Try using some scotch tape to pull it out.
