My 20 month old nephew has always liked objects that spin. On toy trucks and cars, he always turns them upside down and spins the wheels. He loves fans as well. When he gets frustrated, he will sometimes bang his head. He doesn't do it randomly...only when he gets frustrated or doesn't get what he wants. My sister took him to the doctor, and the doctor said that children will bang their heads like that sometimes, and that it is more common than people realize. He told her not to worry. My nephew seems to respond to his name normally, and he knows some words. He can also point out where his eyes, ears, nose, belly, etc. are if you ask him, and he loves books and loves it when people read to him. He will come over and ask you to read books to him (he doesn't speak in sentences yet, but he'll bring books over and hand them to you and then sit next to you and wait for you to read them). He seems very responsive to me, but I was just wondering if anyone has any info. Thanks!

I have a weak heart from anthracycline therapy. I see my cardiologist at least once a year and check my blood pressure daily. my blood pressure is normal, but my pulse is usually between 80 and 130 beats per minute. My cardiologist said its because I need more aerobic exercise, but he didnt give it a name. Does anyone know if there is a medical term for a consistently high pulse?

The Bible says, "Do not commit adultery." I find that is still the best way to defend ourselves against the deadly HIV scourge. Do you agree or do you think this is an old-fashioned view?

I had walking pneumonia two years ago and ever since then I haven't been feeling so great in the breathing department. Is it possible that the pneumonia could have caused "hidden asthma" to surface? I have always had allergies. Could it be possible I have always been close to having asthma but the pneumonia has finally set it off? I often feel as though there are little straws in my chest and when I breathe they get stuck (as if they are flimsy like when you suck on a straw and try to get liquid out of a cup and it closes up a bit).

Also, I do have an inhaler so that I can take it when I feel tight in the chest. But I was never actually diagnosed with asthma..so I am not sure what to think. Could it just be that I have weak lungs? That they are damaged from pneumonia? I did have it from about August until January and just couldn't shake it completely. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My friend just had a melanoma removed on her leg a month ago and two days ago they removed her lymph node near her iliac crest. The preliminary biopsy says it is not melanoma, but now they suspect it is low grade lymphoma. One doctor told her it could be a "false positive" Pet Scan. There is another suspicious lymph node at her aortic base. They did not biopsy that. Is it normal to have a melanoma and lymphoma, or did they just happen to discover these inflammed lymph nodes because of the melanoma promting the Pet Scan. Is it possible she has always had inflammed lymph nodes? I sure hope so!

Well, I'm constantly cold, and I've just really started to take it seriously in the past week.
I went to the beach today with a few friends, and I was wearing pants, sneakers, and a sweatshirt. My friends were joking around and making fun of me, but I knew they were kidding, but one of my friends moms made a comment about me being so cold, and that I should go see a doctor about it, because I could have a disease that makes me this cold.
Tonight I Google searched 'allways cold' and it came up with a few health sites that have a few symptoms of thyroid problems such as being tired all of the time, dizzyness, not being able to think or concentrate sometimes, headaches, etc. Most of those I experience a lot. I get cold constantly and now I'm getting worried about it because of what I read...
So, whats the story? Should I get help?

Last March I came home from an appt with a horrible headache. 3 weeks later, I went to the Dr. He gave me amoxil. A few weeks ago I went again. This time I didn't let it go for so long and I was given a nasal spray. For the following week, not a day went by wtihout a headache. But then it went away for one day and the next day it was back twice as bad. This went on for 2 more days and I haven't had one since. Unitl today. I can feel it starting again. It hurts straight across my forehead and right in my nose (where my glasses fit) I want to take them off but I can't see without them.

My quesiton is: Is this normal? To suddenly start having headaches like this? To my rememberance (and I think I would remember that kind of pain) I never had one unitl a few months ago. I haven't had any accidents that I know of. Is it menopause? Just grasping at straws.

My mom has just been diagnosed with cirrhosis, and her doctor gave her iron. My uncle, who also has cirrhosis, just told her that he thought cirrhosis patients were not supposed to take iron. Is it damaging?

My doctor told me to walk. Here's a guy that thinks everything can be cured through walking. Nevermind I've walked from here to Timbuktu and back, stopped smoking, and keep my feet up. Yet, the backs my lower legs still look like they're about to burst sometimes. I try to go 20-30 minutes a day. Am I overdoing it, or is it as Hank Azaria asks; "If walking's such great exercise, why does my mail man look like the harmonica player from Blues Traveler?"-Before the stomach stapling.

I've been on Z-Pack for 5 days and am out of it (zithromycin). My tonsils are still swollen and red and its hard to swallow. Is there any other relief for swollen tonsils besides salt water? Would ibuprophen work since its an anti-inflammatory? I've had swollen tonsils and a sore throat for 6 days now and its really getting annoying!!!
