hi Liz. I had an MRI a few weeks ago and I had a shadow on my liver. They told me had liver cancer. But I don't. They did a liver biopsy where they stick a needle in to the liver and take out a piece of the shadow tissue. (they give you medication so it really doesn't hurt)
Being a retired nurse I knew what I might have. The biggest worry is Cancer. Then there is cerrosis of the liver (from drinking and or drugs addictions) It could be hepititis. There are many kinds of hepititis. The three main ones are type A, B, C, which a couple of them are caused by sexual contact or blood exchange.
Then there is what I have plain old hepititis.Last summer I was very sick, I had a gallbladder that was very infected and ready to explode. I also had constant kidney infections. And my liver enzyms were high. My doctor says that the gallbladder infection probably caused the infections in my kidney and liver. I have imflammation and also scar tissue. I will always have this. I am
just very glad that I don't have the contagious kind or the cancer.

Talk to your doctor about what he susspects. There is a lot of infomation on the internet if you do a search on liver infections or hepititis.

Take good care of yourself. email me and let me know what your diagnosis is.
